Book tour and contemplating pulling from the third debate? How long can he remain in the number 2 spot and be considered a top tier candidate?

I don’t think Carson has the backbone for the job.
The decisions the next President will make may cost/save millions of lives.

Egad!

Prolly right.

Nonetheless, it will be extremely difficult for me to stomach someone from Florida or Ohio, though obviously this would be a good strategy for a person who wants to win.

I very much want to vote for Trump, and I’ll also vote for Cruz, so we will see what happens. If either of those guys are at the top of the ticket, I suspect I won’t let the VP choice spoil it for me.

But man do I ever hate Rubio and Kasich. Both of them make me ill.

If Trump picks Kasich as his VP running mate, I WILL NOT BE VOTING.

“Something is not right with this. Maybe Mr. Carson isn’t a serious candidate.”

Agree. I suspect he was just there for his ego - he would go just long enough, drop out, and hand the election to Hillary.

I know this because I can read his mind, you know, like people are able to read the minds of other candidates - one in particular.

Trump won’t like this lack of worth ethic. Stock for Carson as V.P. choice is going to go down.

Carson's already said he would not be Trump's VP.

People refusing to vote sure screwed us up in 2012.

Please vote.

When?

Last week he was asked and simply dodged the question, in the below video. Not denying it means he’s open to it. Let’s face it, there is no doubt in my mind that Carson would be ANYBODY’s Vice President. What’s the downside for him? There’s no way he went into this expecting to be president, so either he wanted to be V.P. or just wanted the publicity to sell his book.

From the perspective of getting a V.P. who will help him work with Congress, Kasich is probably the best choice of all the other people running. Trump might need that given his inexperience dealing with the basic checks and balances of the government and the grunt work of things like counting votes.

As long as Kasich is willing to sign onto all of Trump’s agenda, then I don’t really see what the problem is with him. It’s not like Bush, Sr. was a detriment to Reagan as V.P. Of course I realize this doesn’t “set up” a conservative to become President after Trump, but they still have a chance in the primary. Obviously being “set up” as V.P. didn’t guarantee Biden the nom in his party.

The problem with Kasich is that, like almost everyone else, he’s a liar.

Whether or not we win an election by electing a liar simply doesn’t matter, because by electing a liar, we lose.

No it didn’t.

We were screwed either way, and we are still screwed.

V.P.’s just not that important in the grand scheme of things. If I like the guy at the top, I don’t really care who he picks as V.P. It won’t change my vote.

If the difference between winning or losing the election means signing on Kasich to shore up Ohio, then it’s worth it to do it. Securing Ohio early leaves Trump more time to work on Virginia, Florida, Pennsylvania, etc.

Kasich would not need to have any influence on foreign policy or social issues as V.P., but as someone who could help craft a balanced budget proposal for Trump, he could prove useful.

Also, as a more seasoned politician, Kasich would be less likely to make gaffes like Carson would. When you have someone like Trump at the top, it’s better to have someone bland as V.P. who won’t make waves. Trump will have enough trouble sticking to his own message without having to clean up what his V.P. says.

I am sure he had a contractural agreement for promotion long predating his run for president.

Carson is problematic

Freepers are in love with him for on reason from jump street cause well....Freepers are just kinda stupid about identity

He’s an accomplished decent man but his past is littered more than Trumps with stuff folks don’t like to hear....seriously bad culture war views at times

American Thinker had a long piece on it

The problem with that, Jedi, is that Kasich is a walking gaffe as defined by his lunatic positions.

I really don’t think that a man with his positions is what anyone is looking for anymore, and that is reflected in his pitiful poll numbers.

Same goes for Rubio. I doubt that he can deliver Florida at all, he is hated here. Everyone here knows that Rubio is a liar.

He isn’t running for his senate seat again, because he won’t be re-elected to it, and he isn’t going to be elected president either. He’s finished.

Much or even all of the GOPE is basically dead in the water at this point.

Their engine is dead, they have no oars, and they shot a hole in the hull.
