CBS Offers Withering Assessment of the Rathergate Movie ‘Truth’It’s astounding how little truth there is in “Truth.” There are, in fact, too many distortions, evasions and baseless conspiracy theories to enumerate them all. The film tries to turn gross errors of journalism and judgment into acts of heroism and martyrdom. That’s a disservice not just to the public but to journalists across the world who go out every day and do everything within their power, sometimes at great risk to themselves, to get the story right.
I agree. It was FR that brought this to light.
Brings back great memories seeing names that are no longer around. I actually found FR from Drudge on the Rathergate story and lurked throughout and then finally signed up.

I live in an age of lies where a movie like this could actually be produced.

You’re also living in an age when the subject of
the movie is publicly rebuking it before it opens
in a theater.

I lived for several years quite close to the Washington (state) border, just across which was Washington State University.
They had a large and supposedly highly-regarded journalism/media/communications school that annually handed out an award in honor of Edward R. Murrow, who had attended school there and for whom the journalism school was named.
Guess who won the award a few years ago? Not Buckhead, of course. No, no—it was Danny-boy!
There may be some debunking and rebuking that takes place but the Left lives so deeply in denial, illusion and vicious hostility that seeking the truth (let alone facing it) isn’t even on the menu anymore.
It’s Orwellian, man. Early totalitarian. I think one reason Trump is so popular is that he talks right through that fog of Newspeak and out-and-out lies. “Hillary shouldn’t be at the debate! She should be in jail!”

The only reason, IMO, that CBS is rebuking this movie is because of the Pajamas Media. They know we’re watching and they don’t want to be seen as supporting this propaganda.
The great thing about this is that it permanently outs Redford and Blanchett as the leftist whores that they are. Not even CBS will back them up.
