Scientists Have Not Found the ‘Gay Gene’

This week, a team from the University of California, Los Angeles claimed to have found several epigenetic marks—chemical modifications of DNA that don’t change the underlying sequence—that are associated with homosexuality in men. Postdoc Tuck Ngun presented the results yesterday at the American Society of Human Genetics 2015 conference. Nature News were among the first to break the story based on a press release issued by the conference organisers. Others quickly followed suit. “Have They Found The Gay Gene?” said the front page of Metro, a London paper, on Friday morning.

The media is hyping a study that doesn’t do what it says it does.

I’m not a scientist so I can’t really say but I would estimate that a person being gay is 50% genetics and 50% cultural.

Then maybe they’re not just “born that way”.

So the debate is over?

The “gay gene” would be the best argument ever in support of abortion.

So when they find this supposed gay gene (I personally doubt it), and the public then starts aborting feotuses with that gene - what does the Left say?

As much as they try, it is not wise to fool with Mother Nature. But the gay gene is pure bullhockey.

Psychological misassociation in an early post natal and toddler stage. In short. seperation anxiety at a deep level starting more at age 5 through 9 where the internal ego or self as an independent entity from the God like parents emerges...

In the household they may for a yet unknown reason unnaturally bond to the opposite parent, possibly due to internal conflicts of personal; freedom to explore self versus well established “dreams” and conduct in the family that prevent development of a more shall we say “free spirit”

This then sets, at least in the male model a childish “solution” is to act more feminine. i.e. needy to gain attention. Further amplifying this attempt to find self is the attention and even association (group think, mass marketing) one now finds easily and even promoted by the Government...

Because they are now a “victim” class and that means ...

Government support, and why not, no way to poop babies (borrowed from Serpico) ...

Status, I am somebody in a world with other somebodies and ...

A sad place to perch...

If homosexuality can be cured in the womb, what will existing homosexuals do? Oppose the treatment?

Excerpts:

1. “If you use this strategy, chances are you will find a positive result through random chance alone. Chances are some combination of methylation marks out of the original 6,000 will be significantly linked to sexual orientation, whether they genuinely affect sexual orientation or not. “

2. “ By which he means: they gave the results an imprimatur of plausibility by noting the roles of the genes affected by the five epi-marks. One is involved in controlling immune genes that have been linked to sexual attraction. Another is involved in moving molecules along neurons. Could epi-marks on these genes influence someone’s sexual attraction? Maybe. It’s also plausible that someone’s sexual orientation influences epi-marks on these genes. Correlation, after all, does not imply causation. “

3. “ It may seem like the noble choice to work with what you’ve got. But when what you’ve got are the makings of a fatally weak study, of the kind well known to cause problems in a field, it really is an option—perhaps the best option—to not do it at all. (The same could be said for journalists outside the conference choosing to cover the study based on a press release.)”

There is no gay gene or set of genes that cause it. Those genes would have been lost long ago due to natural selection.

In my 65 years of experience, I've come to the conclusion that a small percentage of humans are born with their hormones out of wack. Some females have more testosterone than the average woman (think butch); some men have more estrogen than the average man (think effiminate). There is such a thing as a hermaphrodite with both female and male genitalia. Those who have an imbalance of hormones are to a lessor degree.

So yes, I believe some are genetically predisposed. Although I feel bad for their abnormal condition, I don't need them pushing it in my face on a daily basis in every type of media. Plus, I don't buy into so many now identifying as a different gender.

Just read about a man who "transitioned" from a male to a female, including surgery. He said it was the biggest mistake of his life and is "detransitioning" back to male. Since he has come out about his mistake, he says he's getting contacted by many who also believe they made a mistake.

Most homosexuals were molested as children.

That is why they work so hard to gain access to your children.
