President Obama is hoping to use the shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon as the backdrop for his call for more gun control today, but the locals aren’t standing idly by.
Many are already our in force — over 8,000 by one estimate — telling the president to go home.

Several people on hand are posting photos of the protesters’ signs and messages to Obama.
“My family, my friends, everybody down here is not happy about him coming,” Roseburg native Michelle Finn told The Oregonian yesterday.
“He already says he’s going to politicize this — he’s already going to push his agenda. And if he knew Roseburg and Douglas County, he’d know these are the wrong people to be doing that with.”

One Defend Roseburg supporter offered this prayer today before today’s protest:
We come to You today to first give You glory and honor and praise for we know there is none like You, You are the only one true and living God like You as You have told us in Your Word. Thank You Father for being real and giving us hope.
Today we lift up the community of Roseburg Oregon and ask for a hedge of protection there. As You know Lord, president Obama is going to visit Roseburg and many are upset over it.
I believe in my heart that You Lord have handed America over to a corrupt leader because of our rebellion against You. I Understand that Father but ask that You would have mercy on America and have mercy and grace on Roseburg today.
Allow this protest to go forward with peace, success, brotherhood and love. May the message be loud and clear to our government that we still love God and love America the constitutional republic.
I pray that in spite of the media’s ability to skew the truth about this event that You Lord would open the door of truth to be made known across America that would show our nation we need to stand for our constitution and stand for our Creator and Savior who gives us life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Lord I know that freedom and liberty first came from you and America will once again be a nation that You oh Father in Heaven will bless once again. We give you this day and pray for Your will in Roseburg today.

It's little more than an hour until wheels down in Eugene for President Barack Obama. He is meeting with the families of victims of the Umpqua Community College shooting, then flying to Seattle for Democratic National Committee roundtable.
Gov. Kate Brown will accompany Obama on his visits. Neither are expected to speak publicly. Yet, many see Obama's meeting the grieving families as a maneuver to push gun control laws in Congress.
Especially after Obama's impassioned speech, saying mass shootings could be prevented with stricter gun laws.
Already, protestors are in position to greet Obama when his plane lands in Eugene.
Oregon is only blue because of Portland, Eugene, and any towns on the small coastal strip west of the I-5. Democrats have destroyed eastern Oregon’s logging industry and people have been forced to leave, so population has dwindled.
NH is open carry and some citizens exercised their rights to carry. Pissed off the liberals when the cops did nothing.
Some times Libertarians have a use.
You forgot State College in the middle of the of the commonwealth as another blue zone.
Just like Missouri: St Louis in the east, Kansas City in the west and Columbia in the middle.
State colleges in those locations.

Nice prayer. Although it seems that they already have let obama put his shadow over the tragic event of last week. No mention of the victims or their families. Although there will be time enough for that during the numerous upcoming funerals and memorials for all those people.
One of the things about school shootings that saddens me so much is that, whether young or old, these people are shot down just as they are embarking on something new - doing something that will better their lives and society. All of their hopes and dreams shattered.
My local radio station just reported there were 65 protesters.

That’s why we should have proportional voting. Not winner takes all. We would be divided nearly 50/50 in Oregon. Other states should do the same. Could make a difference.
