I remember Gold Meir saying that Moses wandered around the desert for 40 years and finally took them to the only place in the ME with no oil!...............

Big trouble, the Golan Heights were Syrian until 1973, Israel has not formally annexed the Golan Heights, IIRC. In International law, it’s still Syria. So can they exploit these reserves? Could Israel free up the oil to Syria in exchange for Syrian peace, recognition and normalization of relationship?
A legal state of war still exists between Syria and Israel.

massive oil reserves have been located in the Golan Heights, close to the countrys border with Syria. Perhaps the location will extend to the Mediterranean area. The prophecy states that "Asher will dip his foot in oil" (Deut. 33:24).

More likely they’ve drilled horizontally several hundred miles into the Saudi oil fields...

Wow. My Biblical scholar wife has been predicting this for sometime and that Iran and Russia would move to forcibly take these resources from Israel. And that it would be a horrible war for all involved but that it wouldn't end well for the aggressors.

Golan Heights is part of Syria, and has been occupied by Israel since 1967. The Golan Heights is internationally recognized as part of Syria.
Russia is doing what it needs to do, in order to keep Assad in power, that will form a strong relationship between the two.
Russia (and Israel) know that the US will no longer come to the aid of Israel. After Assad is secure, Russia will demand Israel return the Golan Heights to Syria. Soon after, the Golan Heights will be full of Russian oil companies.

This is just the latest in a number of oil and gas discoveries in Israel (mostly off-shore).
