Big trouble, the Golan Heights were Syrian until 1973, Israel has not formally annexed the Golan Heights, IIRC. In International law, it’s still Syria. So can they exploit these reserves? Could Israel free up the oil to Syria in exchange for Syrian peace, recognition and normalization of relationship?
A legal state of war still exists between Syria and Israel.
If they free up the oil to Syria they need to charge one heck of a finder’s fee and processing fee. No way they should give the Heights back as they are too strategic as a launching point for an attack on Israel.
