America’s ‘Tech Exec Savior': Marco Rubio Promotes H-1B, Immigration Platform to Supporters
Breitbart ^ | 7 Oct 2015 | Adelle Nazarian

[...] Rubio went on to tell the crowd of his plan for the tripling of H-1B visas for skilled workers, which he hopes to achieve by seeing the passage of his bipartisan I-Squared (Immigration Innovation) bill which would be responsible for the outsourcing of even more American jobs to the immigrants who hold them.

The I-Squared bill has received tremendous backing from tech giants like Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Larry Ellison of Oracle and Bob Iger of Disney. Zuckerberg’s FWD.us lobbying arm has also played a key role in pushing for these H-1B reforms. FWD.us President Todd Schulte recently falsely suggested that “for every H-1B visa that is granted, nearly two jobs are created for native-born Americans.”

Every year, the United States graduates twice the number of students with STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and IT degrees as there are jobs available.

A growing number of large America corporations are abusing these H-1B visas by forcing U.S. workers to train their foreign replacements who are willing to work for far less compensation. Toys “R” Us recently joined the ranks of Southern California Edison, Disney, and Harley Davidson by being complicit in this display of massive corporate greed at the cost of American workers’ livelihood. H-1B ping. Let me know if you're not on the list and want to be added (or are and want to be removed).

This is just another reason Rubio needs gone.. H1B is a completely abused scam. There is no reason to be importing a java or c programmer, there are plenty of domestically skilled available, companies just don’t want to pay.

H1B is just a wage depressor nothing more... it is to skilled workers what illegal aliens are to unskilled.

Exactly! I'd just add that the only thing being "abused" is the facade that was sold to the voters - the real H-1B is working exactly as designed:

H-1B Is Designed to Allow Employers to Replace Americans with Cheap Foreign Workers
H-1B Is Designed to Allow Employers to Pay Foreign Workers Extremely Low Wages

I work in a large Health Ins. Company. I would estimate 80% of the people around me are H1B from India. It’s sick.

More proof that Rubio is a putz. FWIW, I worked in Japan 1988-2002 (14 years). Their equivalent of the H1B program was to impose no quota limits, but just require that the company pay the foreign worker a salary premium of at least 10% more more than the going wage for the job.

This simple requirement worked the following wonders:

  1. No gaming the system to fire natives and import cheaper foreign workers.
  2. Better quality of foreign workers because companies had to be more choosy and make sure they were worth the premium.
  3. Foreign workers who were, for the most part, grateful to their host company for better opportunities rather than being p*$$ed off at it for being treated like chattel.
  4. Rising wage levels in the industry which, in turn. . .
  5. . . . made native workers both more hospitable to the foreign workers and more likely to go into a field with rising wages.
  6. Which, in the long run, lessened the need for foreign workers.

The corporatists don't want to grow America for their children and grandchildren - they want to gut America to improve this quarter's bottom line. No conservative can support or excuse this treason.

The H1B law as written is fine, but the reality is is that it is gamed. If you need to import a guy to work on a vacuum tube system no one any longer supports or knows from the US fine, but the idea you need to bring in a foreigner to write java or javascript because you can’t find a native is garbage.

I like the idea of charging a premium for it, but I would go more than 10%, probably 25%, so you don’t have to worry about a brief market fluctuation in a particular region ever making it more viable.

I suppose you're assuming "his guy" is Trump; in what way is he an "establishment boot licker"?

Exactly-- all these firms should be sued for wage theft, on behalf of both their American and their foreign workers (who ought to be earning as much).
