Russian jets hit 12 Islamic State targets in the course of nearly 20 combat flights carried out in Syria on Tuesday, the Defense Ministry said. Command centers and training camps were destroyed in the attacks which threw the extremists into panic.

"Su-34, Su-24M and Su-25 have launched air strikes on 12 objects of logistic infrastructure, command posts, training camps and facilities of militants belonging to terrorist groups allied with Islamic State [IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL],” Igor Konashenkov, Russia’s Defense Ministry spokesman said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Russian jets destroyed an Islamic State army munitions plant outside Damascus as well as two command centers in Deir ez-Zor, according to the ministry’s statement. In the Idlib Governorate, a training camp for IS militants was eliminated, while several IS strongholds came under attack where ammunition depots were blown up.

You're probably right. The drunks who fired the missiles probably made them out of used water heaters. Putin probably had nothing to do with any of it. He probably had never heard of Ukraine.

Well, I don't want to disturb your slumber. Your dreams belong to you. Plaster your walls with shirtless pictures of your hero.

Sheeeeeesh.

“Josh Earnest said today that Russia will caught in a quagmire

and that Obama is playing “chess”

while Putin is playing “checkers.”

It will be a very, very tough call to make - who was the biggest damn liar spokesman for the Obama Administration.

“This is like wars ought to be fought.
Don’t worry about civilian casualties, the civilians will get out of the way fast enough. They will become actual refugees (families with women and children).
When the civilians are gone, you can then pound the snot out of what’s left without worry.”

I honestly believe that in the big picture, there are fewer casualties, and in particular, civilian casualties and misery this way.

I think your failure to answer my questions says it all.

The US?NATO are covering for Ukraine. Ukraine/US/NATO were the only ones to benefit from the incident, which enabled the West to sharply tighten sanctions and Russia and demonize it in world opinion.

“34 aircraft and only 20 sorties? Makes one wonder what the limiting factor is?”

It could be lack of worthwhile high-value targets to take out with expensive, smart weapons. With those out of the way, they could send in Bear bombers with dumb bombs.

I confess that when it comes to disputes between the US and Russia, I tend to side with my country. I don't apologize for that.

I just want you to keep imagining those drunks nailing together the used water heaters. And, the looting of the crash scene by Putin's boys - another masterstroke. That Putin is just a genius.

Listen, you root for Russia. I'll root for the USA. What more needs to be said other than that you should prepare for more Russian failure and misery.

“putin’s a joke”

Methinks you doth protest too much. If you really thought Putin is an insignificant “joke,” you wouldn’t be wasting your time sputtering about him on this thread. You give all the signs of somebody who’s frustrated over Putin’s effectiveness in incinerating jihadis in Syria

You aren’t John McCain, are you?

” If they are captured there is no “club gitmo” for them.”

Great point.

And you know what the Russians did with the Somalian pirates they caught.

What is the US doing that you are cheering?

Our Ayatollah is a fecking idiot who is doing nothing about ISIS. He admitted he had no plan to defeat ISIS.

He has a plan to take away your Second Amendment Rights though.

He (and our idiots in Congress) want to keep murdering and mutilating babies.

Our Ayatollah is continuing to import a sh*tload of Muslims.

What the F are you happy about?

“I tend to side with my country”

You mean with Obama and his support of Syrian Islamists. I’ll bet you wouldn’t be siding with the US if we were fighting your Islamist heroes in Syria

No, but I'm not pleased to see large countries in the world fail year after year because of the same incompetence. Why should that make me happy? I've been to Russia. I feel sorry for the people who have to live in a system that is designed to fail for all but the few gangsters on the top.

I would like to see Russia put forward a leader who is competent enough to improve his country. Twenty years ago, the Russian people were well-educated. Russia could have become a first-rate economic nation. There has been no excuse for a leader to run that country into the ground. But, that's what Putin has done.

Look at the ETF for the Russian stock market in the last five years. Are you sure that this the work of genius?

I am an American, but I also have to live on this planet. Why shouldn't we care when we see an incompetent leader of a major nation acting like a fool? This man has nuclear weapons. What happens in the mind of an incompetent megalomaniac when repeated failures force him into a corner? We don't know, but we might find out.

What should a leader do when he finds that he's associated with folks who use his weapons to shoot down a commercial airliner full of innocent people and then loot the crash site? Should he just lie about the whole thing? All you have to do is read this thread to see that there are screwballs out here who really seem to believe Putin's baloney.

There is a real problem with this guy. How can sensible people cheer for him?
