Marco Rubio Admits: Amnesty Critics Have ‘Very Valid Argument’

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) still supports immigration reform, including the ability for illegal immigrants to apply for green cards. But in a recent media interview, he admitted that his quest for reform would be difficult to pass through Congress, even acknowledging that critics have a valid argument against it.

When asked by CNBC’s John Harwood if he still supported the Gang of Eight proposal allowing illegal immigrants should be allowed to apply for green cards in 10 years, Rubio indicated on CNBC that that he didn’t – because it would be impossible to pass. But Rubio admitted that he was open to the idea that illegal immigrants should be able to apply for green cards in the future.

...

“The argument you hear from people is, why should someone who came illegally be able to access citizenship or a green card faster than someone who came here legally,” he said. “It’s a very valid argument and one that will serve as a strong impediment to making progress on immigration.”

ANY immigration bill that doesn’t start with, “wall first, talk afterwards” should be dead on arrival.

1. Wall is 100% built and all agencies are funded to remove illegal aliens who have family members in prison.
2. Let’s discuss immigration reform.

I am up for amnesty, providing the first two items are 100% resolved.

He’s stuck with his history. Too bad he never realized that his story is not the same as what has been going on to the present day.

How about amending that to be "Wall first, deport second!"

Amnesty -- NEVER!

No amnesty EVER. Revoke citizenship for anchor babies. Revoke citizenship for illegals that Reagan gave amnesty to. They can be given resident alien visas but no citizenship!

The only exception I might make is for kids who have grown up here as deportation to latin America would be extremely hard on them. But no citizenship. Unless they serve 4 years in the military.

Rubio is owned by The Cheap Labor Express.
He only backed off from his support of amnesty because of the overwhelming rejection of the concept by a large majority of the citizens.

Rubio still wants amnesty, he is just smart enough to know he can’t get it passed.
He should have been smart enough to have not backed it in the first place as the rule of law is the bedrock foundation upon which our Republic stands.

Amnesty is death to America

So is anyone pushing amnesty

Bye bye Rubberio

All Public Benefits for persons that Entered the USA Illegally, SHALL be paid for by a separate assessment on the wages and salaries and Retirement Benefits of ALL PERSONS that can be classified as a “Public Employee” and ALL Persons that can be classified as a “Retired Public Employee” anywhere within the United States.

Rubio is simply wrong, and I will not vote for him ever, even if he claims his position has evolved. I do not approve of rewarding criminals, and those who approve are not acceptable candidates. Rubio is like Bush - Republican in Name Only and not someone I would vote for, not even to avoid Hillary.

“It’s a very valid argument and one that will serve as a strong impediment to making progress on immigration.”

Wait a minute! Does anyone else here see the inherent contradiction in this sentence?

Even if there are compromises, it is not immigration reform unless millions of illegals leave.

Anything else just means there will be millions more.

Yes, Not abandoning the rule of law should be an impediment to those who seek to change the laws to benefit those breaking them.

Fraudulently documented foreigners are entitled to deportation under the law, nothing else.
