Uh, wrong. Who makes the determination? How do you get the nut cases to present themselves for evaluation? Not a plan I'd put forward. Sounds like Dr. Ben kinda believes the "increase in shooting" bs the lyin' king is puttin' out there. The reality----

1993--195 million(approx) guns in private hands. "Gun" homicides- 7 per 100k.

2015--300+ million guns in private hands. "Gun" homicides---(2010 latest data) 3.6 per 100k.

Of course, if you count the inner city gang bangin' related homicides----------

It is highly unlikely that you are going to be killed in a "gun" homicide.

Correct as required.

If this is the best he can come up with he needs to get back to lobotomies.

I am of the opinion that given the right conditions, that every single human being that is capable of cognitive thought and physical movement is capable of mass murder.

Dr. Carson is well intentioned, but incredibly naïve.

Under the control of an Obama or a Clinton you can be certain that every last one of us posting on here will wind up in that database.

And this is why I am NOT voting for Ben Carson. Too many stupid ideas.
What defines a “potential mass killer?”
And, given the politicized behavior of psychologists, can you IMAGINE the amount of abuse that definition take? It would be about two weeks into the next RINO or Democrat administration that being a gun-owner would define you as a “potential mass killer.”

if you want to end the spectacle of mass murder, end the spectacle that follows... no murderer identification... they will be forever referred as Asswipe # 1 etc.... no more interviewing the parents or friends... they are useless as individuals. no more reading of their manifestos... the cops can read them to determine if anyone else is involved, but the determination of their mental capacity has already been decided, they are nutjobs.

make it illegal for anyone to mention they’re names forever.

they will have no motivation to cause such actions to bring on celebrity status.

The problem is that Democrats would cheerlead the database, and then put every member of the NRA in it.

Nothing could go wrong with this idea. Oh, Ben!

We won’t profile potential terrorists. How are we going to profile potential nutjobs, by their affiliation with conservative leanings? They will define how to profile someone and history be damned. Then we’ll all be on another database.

Mass murders are where 4 or more people, besides the perp, die.
Mass murderers are statistically insignificant as a part of overall murderers. The odds a young black male will become a murderer are fantastic compared to a mentally deficient person.
Maybe Ben should look at a different kind of registry.

Carson could do this and as soon as the Dems are back in power then every Christian, anti-abortion protester, veteran and NRA member would go straight on that database as a dangerous person. Didn’t we learn anything from the Patriot Act? This is why I can’t support Carson. As much as he tries to walk it back or hide it his gun grabbing character keeps shining through.

From the article

The proposal he raised is a primary step advocated by gun-rights organizations, like the National Rife Association, to help prevent mass shootings.

Most shrinks view wanting to own a gun as evidence you might be a mass murderer.
