We’re not mature enough to handle things like this.
More likely, Clinton saw this as being potentially harmful to him.

My recollection is that Freeh previously revealed his difficulties in getting White House cooperation for the Khobar Towers probe.
As I recall, he also claimed that he was eventually successful in getting Clinton to use the "talking points" in a meeting with a high Saudi official.
However, after revealing the evidence of Saudi complicity in the bombing, Clinton immediately changed the subject...and asked for a substantial contribution to the DNC.
Freeh professed that he was "shocked".

The Clinton White House set a record for suppressing evidence which should be a surprise to absolutely no one. They brought the tradition with them from the Arkansas Mafia days demonstrating it with the spiking of the Gennifer Flowers allegations from day one of the 1992 campaign. The suppression never stopped. It continues today and will continue through the Hillary years if The American voting class continues the insanity of the last eight years.
