I will take a Sig Sauer or an FN over a Colt any day of the week for a long gun.

And for 1911’s, Kimber is the unquestioned leader in that market.

For the pocket carry, am I going to pay nearly a grand for a Mustang, when in fact Sig Sauer makes a better gun for less?

What area is Colt’s strength? Because I do not see it.

They still make the yardstick when it comes to non-boutique ARs, and - off and on - a good Model 1873 SAA… oh, and a decent 1911 now and then. All stuff that other outfits can make as well or better, but still superior to a great deal of the competition.

Other than that, they only have the historic name and the trademark that goes with it. I guess I wouldn't say any of those were "strengths" so much as assets… and possibly not particularly valuable assets in today's market.
