With more than 310m guns in the US, not all owners are alike. These three progressive gun owners fall into the middle of the political spectrum and break the mold of traditional gun ownership in the states.

Kristin Beck is a transgender woman running as an underdog for US Congress, Kurt Mausert is a Hare Krishna devotee and attorney and Chris Cheng is a professional marksman and former Google employee. Although they make up a clear minority in the states, progressive firearms owners are willing to consider new approaches to gun control

"You know surprisingly enough I find more acceptance among my conservative friends. They can accept my democratic socialist beliefs, my vegan. Not my liberal friends. You own guns, you are a pariah. "

I guess when you are as far left as The Guardian, everything looks "middle of the political spectrum".

There are no acceptable approaches to government gun control. "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". End of discussion.

Amen!

Anyone willing to "have a discussion on gun rights" is an enemy of the Constitution and basic civil rights.

Beck is running for congress against Steny Hoyer, and is all over the map on the issues.

“Anyone willing to “have a discussion on gun rights” is an enemy of the Constitution and basic civil rights.”

You can’t properly inform the misinformed and the uninformed if you won’t discuss things with them.

Of course they are. They will certainly support a system where the leftists end up with the guns and everybody else is defenseless when they get herded into the railway cars on the way to their death.

Ask anybody who survived the massacres in the Ukraine, or Cambodia, or Cuba, or China, or any of the other "progressive" experiments.

Whiney lib voice: “But it says the right of the militia, not people. Militia means army. No one’s trying to take way the army’s guns” /whiney lib voice.

"You know surprisingly enough I find more acceptance among my conservative friends."

It should not be surprising.
