Bloodbath: ‘Los Angeles Times’ To Cut 10% of Staff
Breitbart.com ^ | 5 Oct 2015 | John Nolte

While it may be impossible to believe that an upstanding newspaper like The Los Angeles Times, a trusted and beloved publication that describes half-black men as “white supremacists,” is having financial troubles, the fact is that a bloodbath involving at least 10% of newsroom staffers is underway.

The Los Angeles Times staff will be reduced from 500 to around 450, and buyouts are being offered, but not really. There’s some severance and an additional amount that equals a week’s pay for every year of employment. This sounds like less of a buyout than a small incentive to avoid being laid off, which is what will happen if not enough people accept the so-called buyout.

The LA Times is owned by Tribune Publishing, which will be laying off 80 total employees.

Bottom line: The LA Times is doomed. Imagine a left-wing publication that is so poorly edited, so untrustworthy, and so useless, it can’t even survive in one of the most left-wing cities in America. Things are so bad, the paper’s last publisher didn’t even last a year.

I wonder if they will grasp the irony that the polices and politicians they lied and propagandized for are the very same polices and politicians that are causing them to lose their jobs.

Or later they will face the ultimate irony when after lying and propagandizing about how wonderful Obama’s economy is and how greedy the 1% are, the only “job” they will be able to find is writing articles for free on Billionaire Ariana Huffington’s blog

Investors Business Daily is the best. WSJ is too RINO IMHO.

It won’t help the LAT. I occasionally see in the driveways and gutters of old folks who still gawk at it. The daily is now the size of a small town rural newspaper, which is delivered by illegal aliens on old beat up station wagons.

I love good news. Can’t wait until they’re completely gone.

They covered up that video of O.

The times could make a lot of money selling the Obama-khalidi
video.

I once saw a guy trying to enlist LA Slime subscribers in a grocery store. When he courted my attention, I walked up to him and said: “You could not pay me to read this rag.” He had nothing to say. Their demise cannot come soon enough.

And now, those “reporters and writers” will have to do other tasks appropriate to their ability and education...like barista, ditch diggers, or even worse....democrat politicians.

Of course you know they will never sell anything incriminating about BHO...unless it is to a wealthy far Left activist they know who would destroy it or make sure it never gets released to the public. Unfortunately no shortage of those folks here in L.A.

...

Publishing an agenda rather than the facts doesn’t require as many people.

To bad it’s not 100%. Of course they helped cause their own doom by supporting amnesty and now most of the city can’t even speak English. Good riddance!

If George Wil is a syndicated columnist there, they can cut him and save some money too.

But, but, the economy is doing great and there is only 5.1% unemployment!

How can people be losing their jobs? /s

Maybe one of the terminated employees will find that tape of Obama at the Khalid(?) dinner so we can see what he really said.

Not only one of the most left-wing cities in America, but one with more people than any oter city than NYC, and a tiny fraction of the competition (The NY Times has the Post, Daily News, WSJ, Newsday, Village Voice, etc.)
