To Curb Gun Violence, Hillary Clinton Has a Plan for Possible Executive Action
New York Times ^ | 10/05/2015 | Maggie Haberman

On the heels of the nation’s latest mass shooting, Hillary Rodham Clinton will issue proposals on Monday to curb gun violence, including holding out the potential of using executive actions.

Mrs. Clinton, a Democrat, will announce the new proposals in separate town-hall-style events in New Hampshire, a state with a Democratic senator who has voted for some gun-control measures but where there is a thriving gun and hunting culture.

The proposals will come just days after Mrs. Clinton said she wanted to lead a “national movement” to counter the National Rifle Association, after another mass shooting, this time at a college in Oregon, left nine people dead. Mrs. Clinton has made gun control a constant in her campaign speeches since the Charleston, S.C., shootings in which nine black congregants were killed.

The proposal most likely to generate controversy is using executive action to close the so-called gun show loophole, if efforts to pass new measures in Congress do not succeed, according to a campaign aide to Mrs. Clinton, who asked for anonymity to lay out the plans before the candidate does.

According to MOMS, expanded background checks will even stop guys from buying a gun on the streetcorner.

Yes, they are that stupid.

Hmm...can’t get it through the legislature and so rule by executive fiat? I remember a feller doing that in Germany in 1933. His name began with an “H” too.

The “Loophole” was put in to pass the Brady Bill to get gun owners to not fight the act. The libs said at the time that private sales at gun shows would be exempt from background checks.

They planned to use the Loophole they created same way nobama uses the race card.

If Trump actually builds a wall and boots out the 11-50 million illegal aliens in the country, I'll vote for him regardless of his past non-conservative leanings in a heartbeat. That in an of itself would be a massive course correction for this runaway train, IMHO.

It’s a wonder that they still know how to breathe.

Trump has donated to Bloombergs anti-gun group, “Mayors against guns.” So, you are correct, not voting for Trump is the same as voting for Hillary. However, voting FOR Trump is also the same as voting for Hillary.

They are both anti-gun, big government types.

Not thanks to either.

She also said she’d install a half a billion solar panels. She’ll say anything if it means getting elected.

“It is also likely to be applauded by Democrats who have grown weary of gridlock in Congress.”

From the dictionary of New[s]Speak:

Gridlock: media euphemism that means “those times when the voters of the U.S. have relegated the Democrats to minority status in Congress.”

Believe me, if it could be done by Executive Action, Obama would already have done it.

Please provide a verifiable link to prove that assertion.

I can hear Freepers not voting for Trump because he’s not a movement conservative.

Pavlov would be amazed at what it takes for Trumpsters to drool. You guys wake up with drool on your pillows.

I generally agree, but we know he cannot throw out 11 mil plus in a short time. The courts will delay it. He can, however, enforce laws and make them at least start self-deporting while not letting any more in.

Overriding Congress with a reign of Executive Actions is dictatorship.

“Trump has donated to Bloombergs anti-gun group, “Mayors against guns.”

Do you have evidence of this?

I am not a Trump fan. Except for immigration (which is mostly from Jeff Sessions) he hasn’t said much that I consider conservative.
However, last week he was talking about expanding CCW to a nationwide policy (which it should be since you have to pass an FBI check to receive the permit anyway).
I wont vote for him in the primary, but I wont sit out the general if he gets the nomination.
If you have proof he donated to this group, I may change my mind about that.

The old drunk doesn’t care, she’s just repeating the same LIES over and over hoping someone will fall for them. She also attacks online gun sales with the implication that the online dealer will just ship you a gun directly, no questions asked. Everything she says is a LIE, I’m not even sure her name is really Hillary! ;)

I have heard the sound byte from 2007/8ish on several credible sources, but I can’t find them myself right now. That said, ask yourself if it is reasonable that he would have donated to Bloomberg’s organization or not?

He admitted this summer that he did donate to Clinton’s foundation, which also pushes for gun control. Trump is a NYC real estate tycoon. Bloomberg was a 3 term Mayor of NYC. I’m very confident that they are buddies and as a result it is perfectly reasonable that Trump gave to Bloomberg’s organization.

Today he’d probably say that he didn’t even know what the group does......But he is smart and you are stupid!

I did a little research last night after I asked you the question, and I also could find no evidence of any donation.
On the contrary, I found a clip of Fox & Friends from 2013 where they have Trump on the phone while Bloomberg was announcing the formation of the group, and Trump was pretty vocal, and adamantly against it. He called it a “Nanny” organization.
So for now, based on what he’s said, and the fact that he himself is a CCW permit holder, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on this issue.
Still gonna vote for, and work for Cruz in the primaries.
