The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit last week against Trinity Health Corporation, one of the nation’s largest Catholic health care groups, for refusing to provide emergency abortions.
The formal complaint is based on the health system’s “repeated and systematic failure to provide women suffering pregnancy complications with appropriate emergency abortions as required by federal law,” according to an ACLU press release.
Fox News religion correspondent Father John Morris said this is another example of religious institutions being forced to do things against their beliefs.
"The ACLU wants no religious belief whatsoever to get in the way of their objectives, their goals, their ideology," Father Jonathan said. "Would the ACLU be happy if every Catholic hospital had to do full-term abortions? You better believe it. No doubt."
He said the fundamental issue is that the ACLU doesn't believe that the baby inside the mother is also a patient.

Why would they be forced to provide services they are in the business of doing?

If America had a properly ordered society and the Washington swamp was drained of all professional politicians, The ACLU, along with a gaggle of alphabet organizations, would be outlawed!

The admin wants to help the war against Christians. I don’t hear Obama speaking against the ACLU targeting Christian hospitals.
Define “emergency abortion.” Catholic hospitals will take action that ends a pregnancy if it is the only way to end an immediate threat to the mother’s life, as when there is uncontrollable hemorrhage or infection, severe preeclampsia/eclampsia/HELLP syndrome, or ectopic pregnancy.
They may not take the exact action the ACLU would prefer, as that might constitute a direct attack on the unborn child.
They might not define emergency as the ACLU does, when there is an issue that poses a potential but not immediate threat to the mother’s life.
This type of suit is about enforcing not liberty, but conformity to Leftist dogma--the precise opposite of American Liberty.

The tragedy, here, is how many normally conservative Americans have failed for so long to recognize that game. Maybe these antics will wake some up.
Predictable. Next they will sue Catholic churches for not doing gay “marriages.”
ACLU is up to it’s evil ways everyday. No surprise here!
As far back into my teens and I’m now 67 Catholic hospitals have not done abortions or tied tubes of women who should not have another child.
After my mom’s third miscarriage that nearly killed her, her doctor recommended she get her tubes tied. She had to find a Baptist hospital to do it, as our normal hospital was St Catherine’s a Catholic hospital, and they refused to do so.
It was still the same policy when I was an adult and needed the same procedure due to having had my limit of C Sections.
I seriously doubt they will change that policy to suit the Feds.
