Death Toll Rises in Doctors Without Borders Hospital Airstrike (Obama's fault)

The death toll has climbed to 22 following an airstrike in Kunduz, Afghanistan, that struck a hospital run by Doctors Without Borders Saturday.

Ten of those killed were patients, including three children, according to Doctors Without Borders/Mdecins Sans Frontires (MSF). The other 12 were staff members, said MSF.

In a statement, the coalition in Afghanistan acknowledged that U.S. forces conducted an airstrike in Kunduz early Saturday at 2:15 a.m. local time "against insurgents who were directly firing upon U.S. service members advising and assisting Afghan Security Forces in the city of Kunduz. The strike was conducted in the vicinity of a Doctors Without Borders medical facility."

While the U.S. military has launched a formal investigation, MSF is demanding an independent investigation "under the clear presumption that a war crime has been committed."

"If deliberate, why?"

To generate anti-American sentiment in the region and internationally on the world stage. 0dunga is really good at undermining our superpower status as currently evidenced in Syria via Russia's actions. This should help give 0dunga the justification he seeks to exit Afghanistan just like he did in Iraq.

0dunga isn't surprised by ANY of this. He's complicit in most of it.

If Doctors Without Borders shields terrorists, as the article you referred to suggests, it doesn’t excuse bombing them. Why not shut them down and kick them out of the country? Or insist on providing for their security? Bombing them is not going to win hearts and minds.

What a disaster. I feel sorry for the pilots and the those that were involved. Very sad day.

I would not be surprised to learn a high value target was hiding in the building.... Our POS cnc traded one traitor for five terrorist and six military lives... What’s 22 lives...?

Taliban wounded and NGO collaborators? Good riddance. I'm impressed that Obama OK'ed this airstrike. Not enough to make up for the formerly ridiculous ROE's that made this action (to retake Kunduz) necessary, but a good start.

The most important thing is to figure out a way to spin this as Bush’s fault.

1. Treat Doctors Without Borders members just like ISIS recruits when it comes to international travel. At no point in time should they be allowed to travel to conflict zones since it is manifestly clear that they do so to aid terrorists. If they lie about their travel plans, they should go to jail.

2. End non-profit status for them and for any organization that funds them.

3. End any special status that they have when operating in conflict zones since they aren't medical personnel, just terrorist auxiliaries who were aiding the Taliban takeover of Kunduz.

Not winnable. These are hard core America-haters. Since we can't actually kick them out of the country, this "accident" is probably the next best thing. This isn't an isolated hostage incident like the ones we have stateside. The Taliban have thousands of friendlies waiting on to pounce on first responders. Our men are literally in danger from all sides. They need to wipe out problematic spots chop chop so they can respond to the possibility of attack from other directions.

I understand the hospital treated people from all sides of the conflicts......still it’s a pretty low blow when many of the Dr.s are from several nations.....WAR sucks...it always will!

MSF, since your "doctors" are in alliance with taliban, and other murderous entities, you are a legitimate target of war.

Deal with it.

The local communist rag blamed it on “coalition “ forces and deliberately and intentionally avoided associating it with 0.

The Afghan who is in charge of the town stated”Taliban has been firing rocket propelled grenades from the compounds ground and the hospital section burned as a result” Why would the guy lie?....I hate sotoreo/bama with every fiber of my being....but I believe they were doing the little pussy foot bombing he has always done. Whats the big deal? So a doctor “IN A WAR ZONE” gets killed ?....shocking ? I think not.

There were reports saying it was an ISIS hospital. Problem is, I don’t remember where I read it.

Because they are a hard leftist group that purposfully injects themselves into political situations and uses innocents as barganing tools. And they have done so since day 1 to thwart anything that interferes with the destruction of American policy/ideals.

Read their history. They use ‘medicine/healthcare’ as a weapon of the left.

According to documented sources Taliban were attacking US and Afgan forces throughout the medical compound. DWB is notorious for providing aid and comfort to Taliban and ISIS forces and bring a source of protected offense for Taliban forces.
