When we were young in rural Texas, we brought our guns to school and kept them in our lockers so we could hunt right after school. Our guns were very well behaved, and no one ever was shot.

Of course, we had parents who took us to church every Sunday, read the Bible to us daily in our family devotions, and taught us to love our neighbor as we loved ourselves. That sound foundation lasts through eternity.

Mmmmm... if the ultimate reason you stayed that “moral” was that you were proud of yourselves for doing it... it didn’t last into eternity.

But if you did it in gratitude to Christ for showing you an eternal love that is different.
