4 Pro-Gun Arguments We're Sick of Hearing

Another day, another horrible mass shooting. This one was in the small town of Roseburg, Oregon, on the Umpqua Community College campus. More than two dozen people were reportedly hit with gunfire.

While victims are being rushed to the hospital, many right-wing pundits and politicians are no doubt readying their talking points to explain why the 264th mass shooting of the year does not mean the United States should tighten up access to deadly firearms.

Maybe she can get in the “wayback machine” and go interview some of the millions of people killed by oppressive regimes that disallowed the people the right to portect themselves. Oh, never mind. That was a long time ago and doesn’t matter now. That is if any of it ever happened.

She probably got her ‘facts’ from obie’s talking points. Or from this handy dandy anti gun messaging pamphlet:

The Four Arguments

“Guns don’t kill people. People kill people.”

Guns are tools, they just sit there until they are picked up by a person. That is a fact. They can be used for good or for bad. Any weapon gives the advantage to the defender, not the attacker. An attacker chooses the time, the place and the odds. That is why with two exceptions since 1950 all “mass murders” have taken place in “Gun Free” Zones. If you could remove ALL weapons of any kind, criminals would gain immense advantage. That is why the violent crime rate in England is over five times that of the United States.

As a matter of interest, violent crime is lowest where gun ownership is highest. Laws against gun ownership only apply to law abiding citizens, not criminals. That is why laws against murder do not stop murder.

“The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”

People will tell you this is not true. If it is not, why does the Secret Service carry submachine guns, why do our police carry guns? That is a fact. The article says armed citizens do not stop shootings. That is factually incorrect. They do, that is why all the “mass murders” happen in “Gun Free” Zones.

“But, mental health!”

A common denominator amongst the “mass murderers” is that they are being treated with psychotropic drugs or are muslims. The Beltway Snipers, said by the media before capture to be angry middle aged white guys, turned out to be black muslims and disappeared from the media. The Fort Hood “workplace violence” fellow? A muslim and disappeared from the media.

We have far too many nut cases out of the hospital or asylum. What can be done about that? Apparently not much.

“Second Amendment, baby.”

The Bill of Rights lays out inalienable rights given by Our Creator. The right to keep and bear arms was primarily intended as a means of protection from an over reaching government. There is a personal protection aspect also. Read the discussions of the Founding Fathers and it is very clear.

Lest one attempt to cast government as a protector, realize that in addition to 6.5 million Jews murdered by Hitler, so were another 6.6 million undesirables. Oh, and at least 40 million by Stalin, 70 million by Chairman Mao, and even though small numbers, 2 million by Pol Pot and around 750 thousand by Uncle Ho.

We have a right to self-defense. Weapons give the advantage to the defender. The violent crime and murder rates have been dropping as gun ownership and carriage rises. Those who would deny our rights are protected by armed men.

Rolling Stone is conflating drug-related shootings with insanity caused mass shootings, and saying this one was the 264th mass shooting. And the definition of a mass shooting is 4+ killed OR injured. Sheesh.

Idiots.

4 Pro-Gun Arguments We're Sick of Hearing

How about you stop arguing and come and try to take our guns? We will solve the problem of what is wrong with you quite quickly.

3D printing and machining has now made gun control impossible. It is now beyond the power of government to stop people from acquiring guns, and you "Rolling Stones" morons will never be able to deny people protection again.

All that is left is for the point to be drilled into you. Pun intended.

One anti-gun argument that’s so tiring, teaching children to safely and responsibly handle firearms makes them potential killers. If so, does giving them sex ed make them potential porn stars and prostitutes?

Rolling Stone? The same Rolling Stone which glorified a mass murderer???

I’m speaking of the puff piece and glossy cover they did on the Boston Marathon bomber. This magazine which will give such publicity to a terrorist is going to lecture us about gun control???? Really??????

OK. So you libs are sick of valid arguments?

How about these:

The debate is over. Americans have a God-given right to keep and bear arms to protect themselves, their families, and to prevent tyranny in government.

If you’re against guns, don’t have one.

The guns of most Americans have killed fewer people than Teddy Kennedy’s Oldsmobile.

Because the state-run media abuses the 1st Amendment and is derelict in their duty does not mean that we should repeal the 1st Amendment.

I read this week that 85% of the people shot in Indianapolis (and the people that do the shooting) are convicted felons.

I assume most other cities are similar.

So we know these upstanding citizens will obey any new gun laws, right?

Several of the Founding Fathers, including Jefferson (IIRC),specifically stated that the reason (or the primary reason,at least) for the Second Amendment was to remind elected officials that the people have options if they're seriously betrayed by "government".

And *that* is why only *one* Party is constantly trying to neuter it...the Rat Party of course. The same Party that (secretly) wants illegals to vote, that wants illegals made legal so they can vote openly, that wants 10 year olds to vote, that wants felons and prisoners to vote, that insists that requiring IDs is "racist".

And the accusation we of positive IQ numbers are weary of hearing - that if everybody is armed, open or concealed carry, there will be shootouts at every road rage incident, or bar argument, or even heated classroom discussions.

It should be a REQUIREMENT that every high school student not be granted a diploma until he or she has passed a sidearm familiarization course in the care, feeding, upkeep and grooming of personal defense devices. And made a competency score in target practice.

No mass shootings in the past 30 years have been stopped by an armed civilian.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I do know that all of those mass shootings were in an area where conceal and carry (CC) was not permitted. School campuses rarely allow CC, yet that's where most shooting seem to occur.

When you look at what I call "victim shootings" and compare CC to non-CC states, it's pretty clear that CC states have fewer such shootings that non-CC states. The idea that you can prevent crazies from getting a gun makes as much sense as saying Prohibition prevented all drinking. If the MSM would simply report this once and then give no information about the shooter, I wonder how many shootings there would be. It seems that it's the MSM coverage they want...they want a place in history and that's what the MSM gives them. I wonder what would happen if the MSM was not allowed to publish the shooter's name, picture, or any details about him?
