I listened to Barack Obama’s remarks Thursday night about the Oregon shooting. I will say this in the president’s defense: He is obviously sincere.

Indeed. Considering sincerity a noteworthy standard of anything in politics reflects a sad lack of critical judgment. Falling for a psychopath is even worse.
