Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Movie The Walk Is Literally Making People Throw Up

We have heard of putting the audience in the middle of the action but this is taking it a little far. The Walk is based on the infamous story of tightrope walker Philippe Petit, who walked across a wire connected to the Twin Towers in 1974. The movie was shot in 3D, making the already terrifying heights actually come to life. So much so that audiences are literally vomiting at the sight of it. The Walk held press screening this week and the reception was queasy. But at least it wasn't because the movie was terrible (that's left for films like Pixels). Based on tweets and first person accounts from inside the theaters, it seems like people are getting sick from the immense vertigo induced by seeing The Walk.

Heck, I found Nic Wallenda's tightrope walk over Niagara Falls vertiginous, and I was watching that on a 13-inch TV. I can't imagine watching something like that in 3D on a movie screen doing anything good to my internals.

I sat down and leaned up against the sign post.

Alkali/salt-it was a unique place (to an easterner).

Absolutely. I’m a big fan of 3D and cgi, even if most of it is wasted on mediocre stories. I’m also not big on heights, but I want to see this one on the big screen.

It’s on the Blu-Ray. Apparently, Peter Jackson and his friends re did it.

Thats a repro of what the scene was supposed to be.

But I don’t think the original scene has ever been found

“Man on Wire” is a very well done documentary using actual footage from the event.”

The trailer looks pretty good.

The guy did it with no safety line, which I find absolutely amazing

I hung my head off the top of half dome. Had crawl on my hands and knees from about 10’ then belly crawl the last 3’.

It was one of those “I’m just a tiny speck in the universe” type moments.
