This article claimed that Carly Fiorina's HP had been somehow duped by Steve Jobs into not selling the "latest" iPod while Apple was selling different, newer iPod models. Simply NOT true. Initially, HP only offered the 20 and 40 GB 4th-generation iPods. HP later added the iPod mini, the iPod photo, and the iPod shuffle to the lineup.[4] Thanks to HP's distribution network, the iPod+HP was sold in retailers where Apple did not have any presence at the time, which included Wal-Mart, RadioShack, and Office Depot. In other words, HP sold every iPod that Apple sold during that period.

iPod model 4

This author's so-called expertise counts for nothing if he doesn't know these facts and is using it only to bash Fiorina.

I have a 30GB iPod from HP, probably bought it in 2005. Formatted it on my HP PC with Windows, and used it with iTunes on the PC. Still works great ten years later (the iPod, not the HP PC) holding thousands of tunes and photos. The only thing I changed was doing a battery swap, bought off eBay for a few bucks. Great value, indestructible.
