There may be a new development connected to the incident recorded on video of a cat being taken from its home the South Bay. It's a startling development, and neighbors wonder if there could there be a cat killer on the loose in the Cambrian District of San Jose.
We showed you security video on Tuesday night of a 17-year-old cat named GoGo who was apparently cat-napped last Monday. In the video you see him lounging on his front lawn when a car stopped by the house and a person got out and approached GoGo. The cat tried to escape, but was slowed by age and couldn't run fast enough. The alleged cat-napper snatched him and took off.
"He was so sweet that I don't understand how anyone can do that," said GoGo's owner Miriam Petrova.
Petrova has received a lot of emails since our story. It seems now like quite a few cats have disappeared from the Cambrian District where GoGo lived.

Around here the coyotes do all the cat snatching.
cat jerky?
I hope they catch whoever is doing it. I also fervently hope that their cranium experiences significant blunt impact from a well seasoned baseball bat. What courage they have, to prey on old cats who can’t run away. They are sick pieces of excrement who have to be purged from our human society. This is a very big reason that I do not let my cats outside. They have a very complex topography indoors to amuse them, and every need fulfilled. The life of Riley is what they have.
Who’s the cat killer? A cat hater, a bird lover, or a serial killer in the making?
We live in a semi-rural area but keep our cat indoors. There are a few coyotes around, but mostly I don’t want to have to deal with fleas and ticks being brought into the house.
City dwellers should keep their cats in their homes.
Is their a Asian restaurant around.
Appalling to think about. Non-humans.
Nice. Blame the victims.
Should the people also be afraid to sit on a porch or patio???
Wasn’t PETA caught stealing pets a while ago?
Since the cat disappearances seem to be limited to one neighborhood, the cat snatcher probably lives there and it’s likely someone will recognize him/her from the video by their body language (and likely by scratches on their arms!).
Well put. Exactly what I was thinking; these people doing this are beneath contempt.
I’m guessing snake owner.
I’m guessing snake owner.
People who fight pit bulls use docile pets to train up the killing instinct.
