MOSCOW -- Russian jets carried out a second day of strikes in Syria Thursday, as a senior U.S. politician and activists claimed the targets included rebels backed by the United States.

"I can absolutely confirm to you that they were strikes against our Free Syrian Army recruits that have been armed and trained by the CIA, because we have communications with people there," Republican Sen. John McCain, who is head of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said in an interview with CNN, according to the Reuters news agency.

Yeah, Rand Paul was certainly an idiot for repeating that fable.

US armed rebels = ISIS.

The US opposes Assad because he is allied with Russia, controls key NG pipelines, and is not a member of the IMF.

The “Free Syrian Army” is a regiment in ISIS, and their existence has been one of the back-door conduits to supply and support ISIS.

The FSA was compromised a long time ago. Just like the Sunni Iraqi army troops. Cut and run, giving up to ISIS immediately.

Still doesn’t keep your head from decorating a pike if ISIS catches you.

The Muslim Brotherhood is EVERYWHERE. Including the White, er, “Rainbow” Hut. And the campaign of Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless.

Like that line in Carlito’s Way,

“The streets, they are watching” after he decided not to kill some drug dealer punk and let him live.

I don't know why this is a surprise to anyone so SeeBS must be trying to conflate the facts as usual. Putin has stated bluntly that they are there to support Assad. They are not going to make fine distinctions between groups opposed to Assad and will deal with the most problematic and closest first. ISIS will be dealt with later once they shore up a defensible territory.

Would that be the US-armed rebels who were passing their weapons on to ISIS?

Russia needs ISIS around in order to justify their self-serving, expansionist actions in the Middle East.

Misleading title

“Should say “ Russia applauded for bombing illegal CIA supported foreign Islamist mercenaries inserted into Syria to overthrow sovereign secular government of Syria “

Or something like that

“Russia wisely destroys US GOP/Obama armed terrorists”

Yes, these are Obama's pretend moderate Muslims who are just a few more in the stew of radical Islamic terrorists that are throughout Syria and beyond. They are part of the Obama facilitated Greater Caliphate terrorist army.

God bless the Russians.

We've been a major player in fomenting this utter disaster in the Middle East. The Christian persecution in Syria and Iraq is due in the first instance to our foolish invasion of Iraq and in the second instance by our arming of Islamic revolutionaries which sprang up as the result of the power vacuum created by our attempt to export democracy to these countries.

Time to realize that it's no longer 1962, folks. The war that many of you are still fighting ended almost 30 years ago and the tables have been turned.

America's principal contibutions to the human endeavor now consist of the promotion of homosexual "marriage", birth control and the cleansing of Christians from their ancient homelands.

The atheistic Soviets fought the mujahadin in Afghanistan 35 years ago and suffered a terrible humiliation. This time, a resurgent Christian Russia will, with God's blessing, rout these Islamic barbarians.
