Who Is the Candidate Most Opposed to Liberalism? (Rush Limbaugh)
Rush Limbaugh ^ | 9/30/15 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 09/30/2015 3:19:01 PM PDT by VinL

CALLER:...Out of all the conservative candidates that we have, which do you think -- and I'm deliberately choosing my words this way. Which do you think is the most hostile and intolerant toward liberalism?

RUSH: Well, can I rephrase that? Because those words "hostile" and "intolerant" do not describe the person that I would answer that question about. I know what you mean. You really want to know who among other candidates is most anti-liberal, is the most opposed to liberalism as part of his existence, policy and everything else? And there's one clear answer. Put your hand up if you know who it is. Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz is the answer to your question, Roberto. If you're looking for the Republican candidate who is the most steadfastly opposed to liberalism, whose agenda is oriented toward stopping it and thwarting it and defeating it, it is Ted Cruz.

If that's your criteria.

Now, if you want to ask, "Does that make him the most conservative?" That's another question. To a lot of people, that alone would make him the most conservative candidate of the bunch, too. The two probably do go together. But it doesn't mean he's the only one. There are some other candidates who are also anti-liberal in our field, both generally and issue to issue. But blanket, overall, I mean, an honest answer to your question would be Ted Cruz, pure and simple. Very clever of you, Roberto. I understand what you're doing out there, buddy. It's a very, very clever maneuver. You are a brilliant, brilliant caller out there. I know exactly what your game is, and I went ahead and played anyway. I answered your question right up front, top to bottom.

Rush also described Cruz as "a party of one" , meaning he has no support in the Senate for his true conservative voice.

Still waiting for "conservative" talk radio to get behind the only true conservative.

If you can’t get others to follow, it doesn’t accomplish much. It becomes a statement of personal faith or belief.

PRESIDENT Ted Cruz. (Has a very nice ring to it, eh?)

Oh, and 2DV, love your tagline.

I don’t know why bother with anyone when you have Cruz. All energy should be put towards helping Cruz. Period. No egomaniacs, horsefaces, and spineless cowards.

Cruz, despite being the ONLY choice, is invisible. Hopefully, he gets exposure as the losers drop out.

I’ve had to turn off all “conservative” radio. Cannot even stomach Prager right now.

I take it you don’t dispute Rush’s analysis, Cruz is the most conservative candidate, right?

“Still waiting for “conservative” talk radio to get behind the only true conservative”

Plenty of time for that after Trump has absorbed the fury of the left. He’ll eat it up and spit it out, and Cruz will have escaped getting “Alinsky’d” for a bunch of months.

Honestly, not invisible, stealth - under the radar. When he does appear, it will be too late to counteract him.

“...you’re looking for the Republican candidate who is the most steadfastly opposed to liberalism, whose agenda is oriented toward stopping it and thwarting it and defeating it, it is Ted Cruz.”

Puzzling thing for Rush to say, after telling us yesterday that the passage of the Corker bill’s was strictly about money. Cruz voted for the Corker bill (along with every Republican save one), but now attacks it viciously. It is amazing. He claims it is setting the stage for a catastrophe. No one will remind him that he voted for it, so I suppose he forgot how he voted.

I was just listening to Mark Levin; he mentioned how the Constitution was turned upside down by the Corker bill, the bill that made it all happen for Obama and Iran.

Cruz is supposed to be Mr. Constitution. I would prefer some Cruz supporter to post and explain to the world why Cruz voted for the Corker bill. Telling me that I am a horrible person for mentioning Cruz’s vote is not an explanation.

Rush didn’t say that in the post. I agree with what rush did say - and that he saw through the callers ploy. And I like Cruz. He has about the same chance of winning as Jack Kemp, who I also liked.

This sounds like Rush craftily endorsing Cruz, without saying it. It’s as close as Rush will get, this far out.
Mark Levin has been touting Cruz for some time now, but it’s early for these guys to commit.

"If you can’t get others to follow, it doesn’t accomplish much. It becomes a statement of personal faith or belief."

What exactly should he do to "get" support? Buy us all dinner? Knowing his record, and the kind of man he is,should be sufficient.

It only requires common sense to get behind Cruz.

Well, I'm a Cruz $$upporter, and I cannot explain why he supported the Corker bill. Indeed, it irks me that he did.

I'd speculate that if the outsider candidates ahead of Cruz in the polls were Sinators, they would have voted at that time with the 97 as well.
