Who Is the Candidate Most Opposed to Liberalism? (Rush Limbaugh)
Rush Limbaugh ^ | 9/30/15 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 09/30/2015 3:19:01 PM PDT by VinL

CALLER:...Out of all the conservative candidates that we have, which do you think -- and I'm deliberately choosing my words this way. Which do you think is the most hostile and intolerant toward liberalism?

RUSH: Well, can I rephrase that? Because those words "hostile" and "intolerant" do not describe the person that I would answer that question about. I know what you mean. You really want to know who among other candidates is most anti-liberal, is the most opposed to liberalism as part of his existence, policy and everything else? And there's one clear answer. Put your hand up if you know who it is. Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz is the answer to your question, Roberto. If you're looking for the Republican candidate who is the most steadfastly opposed to liberalism, whose agenda is oriented toward stopping it and thwarting it and defeating it, it is Ted Cruz.

If that's your criteria.

Now, if you want to ask, "Does that make him the most conservative?" That's another question. To a lot of people, that alone would make him the most conservative candidate of the bunch, too. The two probably do go together. But it doesn't mean he's the only one. There are some other candidates who are also anti-liberal in our field, both generally and issue to issue. But blanket, overall, I mean, an honest answer to your question would be Ted Cruz, pure and simple. Very clever of you, Roberto. I understand what you're doing out there, buddy. It's a very, very clever maneuver. You are a brilliant, brilliant caller out there. I know exactly what your game is, and I went ahead and played anyway. I answered your question right up front, top to bottom.

I’m fairly certain I’ve explained this to you before.

Just in case you haven't listened to the incredibly powerful hour long speech by Ted Cruz on the floor of the U.S. Senate, please devote an hour to this. I knew about the speech, I had read several threads about it, but I had not watched it.

Tonight, I had the opportunity to watch it from start to finish. A better hour you will not spend. I started sending this link to a broader group and ask that you do the same, although you probably already have.

Without question, this should be the next President of the United States of America.

Sen. Cruz: The Real Story of What Is Happening in Washington

And the United States Senate listened to this truth for an hour and then completely shunned Senator Cruz and threw him off the floor the very second his time was up.

Another speech I think people should see is the speech Ted Crew gave to a small group at the Defeat Jihad summit in February. Its about a half hour.

Notice: Cruz is saying “...hold the vote only after Obama has complied...”

Obama never complied, the Senate voted for the bill, the non-compliance is moot.

**************************

Cruz voted for the bill with Obama out of compliance. Obama has been in violation of federal law ever since he has been in office, and flagrantly so, as you and Cruz are well aware; my point being that why would Cruz ever imagine (as a salve to his conscienceJ) that McConnell and the Republicans would brook Obama. What was Cruz saying, “Somebody stop me” as he passed the buck?

“Follow the money”??

Do you have a better explanation? Passage of the bill is explicable. That means it cannot be explained in logical terms. Mark Levin was saying how stupid the bill was a few hours ago; he still grits his teeth over it. Maybe you can call up Levin tomorrow and comfort him like you comfort yourself. Everything that Cruz says about the bill that has his fingerprints on it is true. That one bill will cause absolute misery and death in the future. The bill was not inevitable, it was voted in. The die is cast. We are governed by fools.

**************
You are accusing Sessions, Lee and Cruz of voting to allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon because they received money of some sort— and I ask if you have proof, and you say “do I have a better explanation?” . That’s your proof????????

Then, you seem to accept the fact that Cruz presented the argument that Obama is in non-compliance of the agreement, and therefore in violation of federal law— but you lay the blame on Cruz for not being able to overcome the combined forces of Obama, the Dems and the Republican Party aligned against his effort to enforce the law..

You know, you seem to idolize talk radio- then you should know that Levin admires Cruz, and Rush called him the foremost warrior against liberalism— Rush also called him “ a party of one” — which is to say, he’s fighting Dems and Pubs by himself.

But not good enough for the Dawg— Cruz is fighting for YOU and everything you profess to hold dear-— but probably you dislike him because he’s not willing to deport everyone that Dawg doesn’t believe belongs in HIS country.

You know Dawg, why don’t your run. Dawg for President!

The other day I noted on the sidebar under breaking news that 9 out of the 10 posted articles that I could view were Trump articles.

As someone else noted, I believe that most of the Cruz supporters have gone dark. You can’t fight back against this type of craziness. It’s like a cult.

What Cruz needs to do is offer free pony rides and ice cream. So far the only promises he has made was to tear up the treaty with Iran, bring back the US Constitution and repeal every illegal executive order that Obama has issued. It’s just not enough.

What he needs to say is something like this: “I’m going to tear up that treaty with Iran into so many pieces you won’t be able to stand it. The pieces will be so thick you’ll have to shovel them like snow.”

“You really believe that Obama would support a bill that could be used against him?”

I do. Why wouldn’t he? When has he ever been held to account or made to follow the law. He has been in violation of the law more than once. He knows that NO ONE WILL STOP HIM OR DO ANYTHING ABOUT THAT.

Cruz knew the bill was going to pass. He had tried to amend it and do what he could. I think that Cruz knows that the GOP will do nothing about this. What Cruz is doing is trying to call the administration and fellow GOPs out on this type of thing. This is what he was talking about in his speech to the Senate the other day.

I think that you are deliberately trying to dig very deep to find some reason to justify not supporting the most conservative candidate we have out there.

The points against Cruz are very few and very weak. I’ve weighed them against the others and Cruz always comes up on top.

What I really like about Cruz is that he has always had the same conservative core beliefs. Even before he was in politics. He has been a conservative all of his adult life and hasn’t waivered. This is a man who really believes what he says today and will still believe it tomorrow. I can’t say that about Trump.

“It seems I remember him saying that Obama had “lied” to them
about the Corker bill.”

That Obama lies is a given and I’m sure Cruz knows that. I believe he said McConnell was the one who lied to him about the deal. And apparently that has upset the decorum of the Senate according to Rand Paul.

I believe that Cruz also knew McConnell was lying to him. He’s not naive.

I skimmed it...and bookmarked for later. Impressive - not a single note - laid out a completely organized and coherent and impassioned breakdown of the Washington Cartel and how it operates.

And the only Senator that was moved by this to give him any support on changing this repulsive and infuriating status quo ... was Mike Lee.

Marco Rubio and Rand Paul (he's already condemned Cruz not McConnell/Reid) must be called out to refute anything that he said. They can't.

We're damn sure farther away from truly fighting BH0, including a shutdown, than we were in September, 2013 ... when we actually had NINETEEN GOP Senators show some courage. Just damn.

If you can’t get others to follow, it doesn’t accomplish much.

    If he:
  1. Fears God
  2. Loves the Truth
  3. Hates Covetousness
He can leave the compulsion to God.

You are right, and the only way to defeat the GOP e ultimately is to nominate a man for President who will not be of the establishment....and can/will fight them. This is what Reagan did. He was always fighting the estabs during his entire 8 years...but he managed to move the party in the base direction.

That leaves us Cruz, Trump and Carson. Carly maybe.....and of those, I would say only Cruz and Trump have the chops to fight and beat the estabs. One of those men would be very predictable in what direction he would take the party and the country. The other? Not so much.

Would be ironic to beat the estabs, and then have a Pres who governs to the left of the estabs on so many issues....and not in a good way.

“Cruz knew the bill was going to pass.”

So, that justifies his vote? That excuse is so pathetic.

He was instrumental in getting TPA to pass; voted against it the second time after his vote was not needed. That was a vote for the Obama, one-world agenda.

No, I am not trying to “dig deep” in order to smear Cruz. The votes were out in the open, much publicized. And outrageous for someone who so openly votes against what he so loudly proclaims.

“He has been a conservative all of his adult life and hasn’t waivered. This is a man who really believes what he says today and will still believe it tomorrow.”

With H1-B visas, TPA, Corker bill — it is sad that his beliefs don’t constrain his votes.

“Then, you seem to accept the fact that Cruz presented the argument that Obama is in non-compliance of the agreement, and therefore in violation of federal law”

Seem to accept the fact? Seem? Yes, Obama was in non-compliance, his usual stance, and Cruz STILL voted for the bill. That only makes it worse for Cruz and his Republican senators.

“...but you lay the blame on Cruz for not being able to overcome the combined forces of Obama, the Dems and the Republican Party aligned against his effort...”

Lay blame on Cruz??? Are you serious. I am laying the blame on Cruz for Cruz’s vote.

“Cruz is fighting for YOU and everything you profess to hold dear”

As in fighting (voting) for more H1-B visas, fighting (voting) for Obama’s agenda for TPA, fighting (voting) for Obama’s agenda to give Iran nukes, ICBMs.

“...but probably you dislike him because he’s not willing to deport everyone that Dawg doesn’t believe belongs in HIS country.”

Probably a most illuminating sentence. And you fault me for assigning motives.

“You know Dawg, why don’t your run. Dawg for President!”

Typical Cruz-bot — fall back position is snotty remarks.

*******

Explain to me how Obama was in non-compliance of a bill, that had yet to be voted on?

There was absolutely nothing wrong with Cruz’s vote. He set Obama up, Obama fell into the trap. Obama is in violation of federal law. As your man McCarthy wrote, Cruz deftly trapped Obama— the GOP simply refused to support Cruz (as McCarthy said). Cruz is a genius.

Levin Hannity Rush- all extolling Cruz for being the ONE person to stand up for conservative principles - do you deny that?

You are for wholesale deportation, aren’t you dawg?

“Cruz deftly trapped Obama”

The bill is passed, Obama and Iran got EVERYTHING they wanted, and you spin it as a trap set by Cruz? Do you smoke dope this early in the morning?

“You are for wholesale deportation, aren’t you dawg?”

So you admit that Cruz is for amnesty?

Are you an illegal? Do you want you or your loved ones to be victimized by the illegal crime wave? Can a nation remain a nation and allow the rule of law to break down? Can a nation remain a nation if it allows hordes of invaders inside its borders? Should you wear a pink arm band to identify yourself as a willing stooge to be victimized?

“I like Ted Cruz a lot… Ted Cruz is the most conservative candidate running. He’s the most consistent conservative candidate running.”

And Cruz has done more to expose that man and expose the cronyism and corruption of the United States Senate and that process than anybody else in the United States Senate.”

Mark Levin, (YOUR HERO)

Well, at least we’ve FINALLY got to the basis of your vitriol. You will say anything to demean “the most consistent conservative candidate running.”-— because dawg wants mass deportation.

Guess what? NO ONE is going to give you what you want.

“You will say anything to demean “the most consistent conservative...”

Say anything? I merely recounted the man’s votes, which are not conservative. Only his rhetoric is. So, in keeping with your illogic, recounting Cruz’s votes in “demeaning”.

“because dawg wants mass deportation.”

Yes, in keeping with Cruz (he claims) and and the vast majority of the American people. You do know that Cruz says he is against amnesty.

“Guess what? NO ONE is going to give you what you want.”

What on earth does that refer to?

I’n just interested in seeing how someone can justify their nonsense. Cruz is about, what, 6% at this time. And you try to act as if I’m alone out here?

Are you smarter or more informed than Rush and Mark, dawg? Are they misinformed in praising Cruz’s record? Are they sputtering nonsense. Are they getting money for their considered remarks about Cruz?

Explain it to me Dawg. How are you right about Cruz, and Levin and Limbaugh wrong?
