Great speech that goes no where.
Got through reading half of the speech. What I’ve read is powerful and on point. Will watch video when I get home.
Bigger issue is that he’s keeping alive the notion that there is something approximating opposition to the status quo in Washington.
There isn’t. There are a few token opponents in the senate. None of whom are consistent. And you can count all of them on one hand. In the House there are 10-20 backbenchers who are recognizably conservative.
That’s your opposition. see tagline.
Truth is hate speech to those who hate the Truth.
“...we wrote 20 priorities that came from the citizens of Oklahoma or the citizens of Texas or, for that matter, the citizens of any of the 50 states those top 20 priorities, at least 18 of them would appear nowhere on leadership’s priority list. On the other hand, if you drive just down the street in Washington to K Street K...
If you get a gathering of corporate lobbyists that represent giant corporations and you ask them their top priorities, the list that comes out will not just bear passing similarity, it will be identical to the priorities of Republican leadership.”
I don’t think so. There really is no going back to the illusion that covered DC Republicans. They’re naked and we all know it now. This is a line in the sand. When Cruz becomes a pariah, the American people, no, patriots will see he’s a pariah because he stood up for them. This speech, though not as rhetorically powerful, is every bit as pivotal as “Give Me Liberty or give Me Death.”
That really is the point of Cruz’s speech. He’s not calling on the GOP to cast the right vote, he’s calling on us to replace them.
This should be required watching for any student in civics class.
.....”Still watching his speech and hadn’t reached the end where Cruz asks for time extension and is denied....WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR U.S. SENATE AND OUR SENATORS THAT THEY JUST WILL NOT LISTEN TO THE TRUTH?!”........
They are not interested in truth......”Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far off. For truth has stumbled in the public square, and honesty cannot enter......This is a nation that has not obeyed the LORD its God or responded to correction. Truth has perished; it has vanished from their lips.”
Isaiah 59:14...Jeremiah 7:28

Cruz is at his absolute best!! Epic, historical, he speaks truth in it’’s finest form.
If only our country could be led by such greatness.

Did Rubio and/or Paul stand up for Cruz on the senate floor?? If not, all hell should break loose.
“BUMP”
Why is there not a Freedom Caucus in the Senate? Only Mike Lee stood with Ted. Where were Tom Cotton, Joni Ernst, Ben Sasse, Bill Cassidy, Dan Sullivan, Cory Garner on the motion to second Ted’s resolution so McConnell could beat him with four sellouts?
Despair is a sin. We must continue to fight for our country.
There are more that should have stood up but these were just the new senators elected in 2014. Others have pointed out others who also betrayed us: Rand Paul, Marco Rubio
Good point.
They aren’t just giving up, they are going along and putting up fake resistance so they can keep their money and little bit of power and job in Washington. Just lie to the rubes back home and enjoy your cash and hookers in D.C.
Cruz is giving too much of the benefit of the doubt to his colleagues. They aren’t wimps; they are Quislings.
Rubio was a huge disappointment. He went from promising to selling out his soul to the no borders crowd. Sad.
