Trump said he was not following any special diet or exercise regimen for the campaign. All my friends who work out all the time, theyre going for knee replacements, hip replacements theyre a disaster, he said. He exerts himself fully by standing in front of an audience for an hour, as he just did. Thats exercise. Nor did Trump show much interest in going through the traditional paces of preparing for a presidential debate, which was now 48 hours away. CNN moderators could ask him a million different questions, he said. It makes no sense to lock yourself into a room with briefing books and 20 experts. Thats what Romney did, and he was unable to speak, Trump said.
Instead, Trump took his mountain of food and parked himself on a couch next to the big-screen TV. He spent a good part of the three-hour flight staring up into the giant image of Donald J. Trump giving his speech. He kept flipping between Fox News, CNN and MSNBC, sampling the commentary in tiny snippets. Whenever a new talking head came on screen, Trump offered a scouting report based on the overriding factor of how he or she had treated him. This guys been great to me, he said when Bill OReilly of Fox appeared (less so OReillys guest, Brit Hume, also of Fox). Kevin Madden of CNN, a Republican strategist, was a pure Romney guy, while Ana Navarro, a Republican media consultant and Jeb Bush supporter, was so bad, so pathetic, awful I dont know why shes on television. Click to Fox News. Jeb Bush was saying something in Spanish.

The older we get, the more strategic we need to be regarding nutrition and exercise. I hope The Donald stays healthy, but it generally does not turn out good for folks in their 60’s, 70’s and beyond, who do not have a well thought out plan for nutrition and exercise.
Read the whole article. A long read. Basically reporter is saying Trump is self centered and not introspective at all.
Trump is vain. so what. Most politicians are but dont have the guts to say exactly what’s on their minds.
Not sure where the article was heading and ended with a whimper,
I don't think Trump's diet is very good. Delicious maybe, but not good.
I don't think Patton was very introspective either. I don't want our leader to start doubting himself.
Just git 'er done.
THAT’S the best that the Trump-hating media can come up with??
That he’s “self centered and not introspective at all”??!
Meanwhile Hillary’s about to be arrested by the FBI for being careless with national-security secrets.
So if dirt is any indicator, Trump’s already won the election.
I love this: “I don’t do smatterings.”
If he were overweight I’d agree. But he controls his weight. And just from appearances, if he were going downhill, he’d LOOK like he’s going downhill. He lives relatively clean, no smoke, no booze. IMO he’s good for at least another 20, if the Lord tarries his return.
“......it generally does not turn out good for folks in their 60s, 70s and beyond, who do not have a well thought out plan for nutrition and exercise.”..
For what its worth, I have the nutrition plan in place, its that damn exercise issue I need to put into play. Wish my feet didn’t hurt so much, I’d walk at least a block or two.
Hillary about to be arrested. LOL
and this jerk is worried about non introspective and self centered.
I think he has a generous heart and he basically said he had self doubt sometimes like everyone, but he didn’t want to delve into it. He’s not Introspective. What good would it do? He just moves forward. And that’s great.
I’m introspective and i’m a disaster lol.
Just get er done is right. Waste of time to analyze every dam thing you do,
I love him...but he is overweight. We need a healthy Donald. That might be the fitness trainer in me speaking.
Most interesting read. Thanks for posting. Love Trump or not, I’d call this balanced piece a must-read.
Yes, he knows a lot about fitness too! ///Sarcasm/// This guy is a bad joke.
“Love ya Donald, but campaign trail food and standing up for long speeches, does not make for a healthy diet/exercise routine.”
He has a 757 and catered aircraft food is quite excellent.
He’s active.
He’s healthy.
Love that he was aghast at people double dipping. I hate it. It disgusts me. I always think of Seinfeld when I see it.
It's not like in the old days when Grandpa walked six miles in the snow uphill both ways to and from a one room schoolhouse where the three "R"s were waiting and when college was more a privilege than an expectation. Now, it's party time!
If in 2016 college has become little more than a 4 year extension of adolescence, then our politicians have granted adolescence continuing resolutions into perpetuity.
We have a critical need to reset our perspectives before life does that for us, which it appears to be gearing up to do, when in walks Trump to carbonate the punch bowl.
It is a dilemma for the elected leaders, campaign strategists, credentialed pundits and assorted parasites of the "establishment."What Trump is doing is so badly needed. People in the game have become clueless and their audience even more so. And then a ray of light in the darkness:They have a certain set of expectations, unwritten rules and ways of doing things that Trump keeps flouting in the most indelicate of ways.
What I saw was polite routines and traditions breaking down as the American political order reoriented itself around a new center of gravity.Yep, a new center of gravity who brings his own gravitas along with him in his customized B757.
Didn't see that coming...but I sure am paying attention now!
I don’t remember much at all about Patton getting in touch with his softer side. I do remember, not from the movie, that he wrote his wife frequently and did indeed say his prayers.
Who cares about Trump’s diet? I sure don’t, and I don’t give a crap about how many hours a day he does (or doesn’t) exercise. For one thing, that’s his business. It’s called individual liberty. For another, I think this generation’s fixation on diet, longevity, and exercise is like a pagan religion. No one lives forever. Physical training and a decent diet may be of some benefit, but there are vastly more important things, like spiritual health, that this generation generally gets dead wrong.
I too enjoyed reading this. Trump is like nothing we have seen in politics, a throwback to the 1800’s I think. I think he be just fine as president.
