I guess that’s the last time she ever really got up close and personal with technology. :0)

Yes, she doesn’t want to talk to him. Per her answer at the debate, she just wants to send the Navy w/o cause and start WWIII.

We now know she will have a phone. The remaining question is whether or not she will have a pen.

“I will go into the Oval Office on a regular basis, I will ask you to take out your smartphones, and I will engage in a conversation with the citizens of this nation,”

What specious demagoguery.

“I will ask you, in the weekly radio address for example, do you think you should know where your money is being spent and go to zero based budgeting? Press 1 for yes, press 2 for no.”

The refrain has become common thread in Fiorina’s stump speech pitch. And though it sometimes evokes the laughter from the audience, it’s no joke to Fiorina.

Smartphone hackers will have a field day with this.

No thanks. I prefer my ‘dumb phone’ - less risk to data loss, less time wasted and I can actually hear it (I have a Convoy 3).

It’s the pre-IPhone type of mobile phone that folds over. Its capacity is generally pretty limited. I have a couple of older friends who have them and they complain all the time that they can’t participate in a lot of services that you can access from a more modern phone...but I guess it doesn’t bother them that much since they haven’t changed phones.

You can get an IPhone or Droid on a reasonable plan with most providers now and in any case money wouldn’t be a problem for these people. Some people are just slow to change, although for the elderly, I guess that’s to be expected.

Shur up Snarly.

Direct Democracy via internet plebiscite.
It’s been a longstanding wet dream for Silicon Valley types.

A flip phone has much more dramatic effect when you hang up than a smart phone. It’s just not the same in the movies with a smart phone.

I refuse to have a damn smart phone. Yeah, I can see where it could potentially be useful such as taking a picture of a check being deposited to avoid a trip to the ATM or a bank branch.

But they don't justify the per month cost of keeping one of the damn things. I keep a TracFone in the car which costs me $80 per YEAR (a new $20 phone card every 90 days) versus that much per month for a smart phone.

If I have the sudden urge to check e-mail, sports scores or whatever, I can pull into the nearest McDonald's, Starbucks or scores of other places to do so on my tablet. Even if you a porn loving perv, I'm sure it also looks a lot better on a tablet than on a damn smart phone.

Unless your job requires that you be on the road constantly and available 24/7 or you are depositing checks daily, I really can't think of a logical reason for even owning a smart phone.

Actually, putting aside issues about the best particular technology, it’s not a bad idea to set up sort of video conference calls between the general public and the President to the extent that becomes feasible. Why not?

” I have a couple of older friends who have them “

When I pull out my flip phone, people draw back in horror. “Flip phone,” they say, pointing. A Publix checker said, “Eeeeew! Who still has one of those.” Significant pause. “Oh. Sorry.”
