That’s the problem. No Pope will act to rid the clergy of these vermin. They should be subject to local civil law and sent to jail. Just defrocking or reassignment is not enough. Whoever is Pope needs to have a set of balls.

Pope Benedict XVI removed more malefactors from the priesthood than any other pope. That included bishops as well as priests.

I thoroughly agree that the molesters need to be arrested, prosecuted, convicted and jailed and that includes bishops as well as priests. A truly Catholic pope will likely succeed Francis in short order and will not say “Who am I to judge?” but act to root out this pestilence and let the chips fall where they may.
