Wollaston Beach in Quincy, MA - clear skies and the moon was magnificent.

I may get around to uploading what I took.

Took it about 2 2/3 stops underexposed with color saturation pumped for the red at F5.6 on a 200 mm telephoto with a vibration reduced lens.

I noticed that the upper quadrant stayed dark because from the Phoenix valley we aren’t exactly centered on the best view like the east coast areas that are clear.

Couldn’t figure out whether the manual focus or the auto-focus will give the best view when I blow them up so I took a couple of dozen.

Nice shot. It is during an eclipse like this that you truly can see that the moon is spherical. You caught that.

I’ve seen the Grand Display.

ho hum

to my eye it’s a sub par visual event.

the local natives are out en force....one clown carrying a HUGE telephoto lens and an expensive camera to the top of a rock out cropping.....only to place the camera on a tripod RIGHT NEXT to a shear edge .

some people need that sort of dangerous adventure ....evidently..

NASA video would suffice.. were I in need

The site want a "Sign IIn".
From the live video link, instead of a "rabbit" on the moon, it looks like you're looking from below the rear hooves of a jumping bloody horse, with it's head on the right and furthest away from you.

Well, luck was with us for a brief time. A small area of broken clouds went over the farm and allowed a few good views of the moon. An added attraction was a shooting star that zipped by close to the moon. That was cool!

The dogs sure know the eclipse is going on. I think every one in the county is barking. I’m surprised the coyotes aren’t howling too.

My dog just wanted cheese. Our nighttime snack ritual, followed by bully stick.I don’t think the dog cares about the eclipse all that much.

It get stuck to their rear on the way out.

Have you taken him to the optician to see if he needs glasses?

He’s not a farm dog, is he? LOL! He sounds like our cats. “Gimme food and I’m a happy camper.”
We’re in a very rural area and people leave their dogs outside. I guess they feel the eclipse more than inside dogs. Who knows? Who can figure critters out? :-)

Darn. That just sucks. We get clouds and rain pretty much every time something cool goes on in the skies and didn’t expect to see a thing tonight. We were VERY lucky to see what little we did. I doubt we’ll still be around for the next super moon eclipse in 2033 so I’m glad we caught this one.

Our cats are sleeping, surprisingly. They’re usually on a mad tear through the house for a full moon and it can be worse when there’s an eclipse. Maybe feeding them a large supper helped - - they’re still sleeping it off. LOL!

Not sure why the coyotes are quiet this time. I kept expecting to hear them crank up but they didn’t. Maybe they feel intimidated by all the dogs raising a ruckus.
