Third GOP debate sets off wave of anxiety [no criteria, no undercatd debate]

The uncertain terms of the next Republican debate are setting off a wave of anxiety among middle and bottom tier campaigns, with several lashing out at the Republican National Committee for failing to provide clarity on how many candidates will appear on stage..

The campaigns fear the entry criteria for the Oct. 28 debate is being designed to reduce the number of candidates on stage for the third primetime debate -- a life-or-death matter for White House hopefuls on the bubble. While the RNC doesn’t set the rules, it does have a voice in working with the networks running the debates. The committee has not said how many candidates will be allowed into the primetime debate, which will be held in Boulder, Colorado, and broadcast on CNBC. Nor are there any indications there will be an undercard event, as there have been in the first two debate showdowns of the primary season

Because democrats are polled as republicans, lowering the percentage of support for the better men like Cruz and Trump.

They just keep changing the rules to meet their agenda. Same with the primaries.

Why would Trump want Malkin? She wrote scathing pieces about him from the day he entered.

Ok, so pick someone. Levin, I don’t care. Hewitt was fair with Trump and he doesn’t like Trump.

It is not the “debate”, it is the media that stars in the debates. Debates are necessary but not sufficient. But they are a good method for taking the measure of a candidate. Much better than canned speeches.

Grahamnesty may have to stay in the parking lot, shouting his inanities through a bullhorn.

Really? All I hear at these debates is canned speeches - (hint: Carly) They just move the words around to the same ole speeches at these debates.

Really. If you can not measure a candidate by their responses in these encounters then you probably should not vote.

If it was HIS debate, and if HE won, the boobirds would swear it was fixed. If somebody else set it up and ran it, it wouldn’t make it as EASY for them to badmouth. They’d still probably do it, though.

Michelle Malkin Verified account ‏@michellemalkin My take on Trump: He's saying some right things re. illegal immig & filling vacuum in GOP field. But he's still an assclown. Caveat emptor.

Has Levin ever retracted this?

Mark Levin
April 12, 2011 ·

Trump is NOT the real deal. He will get Obama re-elected. This is not a game. This is not a circus. He is not a conservative. He was happy to donate to Schumer, Weiner, & Emanuel campaigns last year. He was pro-choice recently and now claims to be pro-life. He sounds more & more like Ross Perot. If he runs as an Independent, Obama wins. We should not encourage this.

“I can’t understand how having the RINO vote split up assists RINOS in winning? Graham certainly isn’t going to siphon off any votes or money from those guys.”

I don’t know about that. South Carolina voters, even though they are solid conservatives in most respects, seem to have a bad habit of going for establishment guys. But there are exceptions. Graham may originally have entered to try to prevent Cruz from doing to Jebbie what Newt did to Romney four years ago in SC.

I’ll bet they find a way to exclude cruz.

No they won’t. His 5 percent supporters will scream and yell and shake their arms in protest.

Its way past time to cull the herd. They need to cut it down to about 7 for the Oct debate. Christie, Paul, and Huck need to go.

The real candidates should toss this debate. It is not a debate anyway.

I am sticking with Trump. Smooth talkers won’t change my mind.

I said the CNN debate was the last one I’m going to watch. If they cut it down to less people I might watch one more but I’m not interested in who is the slickest talker. Trump will never outslick Rubio but who would vote for the litte amnesty weasel?
