Washington (CNN)An email chain between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and then-commander of U.S. Central Command David Petraeus from January and February 2009 is raising questions about whether some of the emails on Clinton's private email server were mistakenly deemed personal and not included among the 55,000 pages of emails she turned over to the State Department.
Separately on Friday, a State Department official said a "small number" of Benghazi-related emails that had not been disclosed to the House committee investigating the 2012 terror attack had been discovered.
In the past few days, the State Department was contacted by the Department of Defense about the Clinton-Petraeus chain, two State Department officials said. The officials say the chain does not appear to include classified information, though an official determination has not been made. The chain included Clinton and Petraeus getting acquainted as well as some personnel matters, according to the officials.
you assume she is in control of herself
i believe she is a puppet controlled by a number of handlers that do the bidding of bubba
You make some good points and have a good perspective.
I don’t think she has the stamina for a long campaign even if she would get the nomination.
And it wasn’t hers to deem.
It is much worse than that. NEVER practice law or other high end business and involve Emails.
I have a long time friend who is an estate/tax lawyer/accountant. He’s dealing with some of the world’s richest people at time (sure as hell that isn’t me). I mean Perot, Gates and so forth.
He will fax.
He will take calls and very detailed notes.
He never emails and tells all clients never to email anything at all either due to the fact it can all be used in court over anything.
Now I can mail my nothings everywhere and it is no big deal. Nothing I say is in my emails beyond “see you Tuesday”, “How’s school going?” and so forth.
These days they can legally confiscate computers at work, email and all documents depending on what and who is going after things.
So in a business maybe take orders and make appointments in sales since that is needed, but you have to make believe what you Email could be read against you in open court when you make them.
I post all my politics here or I talk directly by phone or in person to others.
Hillary is technically doomed. I think she has trails all over that would make her guilty of perjury and slander because there will be emails from other parties IMO not turned over where the other party has the one side of the conversation in emails still on record.
Now being the Democrats protect themselves and will not prosecute themselves having no shame and believing any way to the results they want is necessary; I think Democrats will always get a pass (which should be illegal and some court should be allowed to appoint special prosecutors on it’s own).
For common people, this is Perjury
Actually, as a lifelong Yankees fan, Hillary was discussing buying a pair of pants for Yogi.
What does it matter now?!?
We need a news service that not only reports stories like this but discusses the source and what it means when outlets like CNN and the NYT report news adverse to the left. That’s the REAL NEWS!
“I believe she is a puppet controlled by a number of handlers that do the bidding of bubba”
Of course she is. By herself, she can’t find her butt with both hands and the lights on!
All in MHO, doncha know?
well, there at least two of us with the opinion
That picture just turns my stomach. And it’s early Saturday morning. Thanks for ruining my weekend.
She will, when finally cornered, come out “...and take full responsibility”, but then nothing will come of it. As if getting caught was the punishment.
I hope I am wrong. I wish a full blown war erupts between her and the administration, taking them both down in the biggest scandal infested presidency in history putting Nixon to rest, but that may only be my fantasy.
“I think that the Obama administration is happy to be harassing [HRC] but there will be no indictments...”
I think you’re too pessimistic, Mercat! Obama is not the one who would be indicting HRC. Yes, of course Obama can use influence behind the scenes to steer Justice in certain directions. However, I strongly believe he will not try to protect HRC in any way because: Obama knows he can’t control Justice, the State Dept, and the FBI, so why should Obama bother using his influence if it may not work?; Obama wants Biden to be the next President, and having HRC indicted of at least one misdemeanor is the surest way to get Biden elected; and Obama (and Michelle) detest the Clintons and are not going to stick their necks out in any way on their behalf.
The Edward Klein book that comes out on Monday has been excerpted and there is (to me) a credible scene in which HRC went to the White House to ask Obama to “call off the dogs” regarding the email investigations. Supposedly, Obama first played dumb, then explained that even the President doesn’t have the power to derail several investigations across three separate government agencies — not to mention action in federal courts in response to lawsuits filed by groups such as Citizens United.
So, buck up, Mercat! By the way, you have no reason to believe I’m not blowing smoke with the following, but for what it’s worth, here goes: I am good friends with an immediate family member of a Democrat muckety-muck, someone whose name has been in the paper frequently for years and who has Obama’s ear. My friend asked whether voters even care about HRC’s emails, and Muckety-muck responded — mind you, Muckety-muck knows and likes HRC! — “Voters? What voters think won’t matter. Hillary is in big, big legal trouble and this isn’t going away.”
Excellent point. When collecting the materials on the Chicago crime thread often thought that a few Freepers had collected all this material through the media how much the authority must have though wires and snitches.
hmmm. President Biden is as scary to me as President Hillary. Sigh.
In a technical field, email chains on technical messages are imperative.
Reply all is used to preserve the audience for a technical answer.
But the new email thread is best for private messages.
LOL! Such a Clitonesque term!
Agreed. It is also useful for exchanging settlement agreements, especially when the other side insists on saving it without a date or document number.
She;s not all there! I think she would be content to be the first female President to pass away in office, thus cementing her fame.
