New Hillary Clinton email chain discovered

Washington (CNN)An email chain between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and then-commander of U.S. Central Command David Petraeus from January and February 2009 is raising questions about whether some of the emails on Clinton's private email server were mistakenly deemed personal and not included among the 55,000 pages of emails she turned over to the State Department.

Separately on Friday, a State Department official said a "small number" of Benghazi-related emails that had not been disclosed to the House committee investigating the 2012 terror attack had been discovered.

In the past few days, the State Department was contacted by the Department of Defense about the Clinton-Petraeus chain, two State Department officials said. The officials say the chain does not appear to include classified information, though an official determination has not been made. The chain included Clinton and Petraeus getting acquainted as well as some personnel matters, according to the officials.

“mistakenly”

Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Email chains can be very dangerous. I’m a retired lawyer and I make it a practice and advised my clients to start a new thread every time an email is sent. I’ve slipped a couple of times and ended up embarrassed. It is also quite dangerous to hit, “reply all.” I also find that the use of BIFF is good. Brief, informative, friendly, final. And last, always assume that anything written down will end up as an exhibit in a trial.

Why exactly are chain emails dangerous if lawyers could obtain the emails that were written individually?

I can't help but think that old Slick sorta gets a kick out of the fact that she is not as good a liar as he is.

Team Clinton will just “find”the emails they need. Just did same with State emails. Most people see thru this but there are still the media to spin. Why is she allowed to reveal emails in batches. Then not provide the required amount. This is a game and Obama isn’t even involved yet. Force Clinton to reveal where all emails are(under oath). Then make her produce everything immediately. A few years for release gives her all the time she needs.

Who knows how many servers there are. Who knows if the FBI has the real or fake server. They have had it for 2 months and haven’t even examined it yet. Hillary is in hiding and will continue until GOP takes out Trump. Trump and maybe Cruz are the only persons that would look into the emails or any other crimes by Clinton.

Took WJC many years of practice to master this. She is an amateur.

Gmail is particularly susceptible to this, in my opinion. I’ve seen people get burned badly. From personal experience, I got emails with long chains attached & when I read on down, there was stuff they didn’t want me to see. Unless it is something totally innocuous (like a sewing pattern discussion), I always start a new email. I almost never hit ‘reply all’ .... maybe once a year to share with relatives ... seriously.

BTW, those emails I wasn’t to see were regarding budget discussions for an organization to which I belonged. I attended a couple of board meetings & questioned the budget & expenses (expenses were twice projected revenue). It was pretty funny when the Libs (rabidly so) tipped their hand in these email chains. The ‘good guys’ ended up cancelling a lot of their expensive planned expenditures & the organization was saved from insolvency. The president at that time was a mini-Obama & the VP was a Harry Reid clone.

I’m surprised they didn’t go back and insert words like “Chelsea”, “yoga” or “mom” into each one just to be sure they could cover their copious asses.

Sadly, nothing. I think that the Obama administration is happy to be harassing her but there will be no indictments. They don’t like each other but she has too much dirt on him for him to totally take her down.

Unlike the TV shows it takes months to get all the evidence. Then an evaluation of which direction the evidence points in supporting the charges. How many counts of each.

This will be damaging not only to the Clinton s but the entire Democrat party. This is why Biden is waiting in the wings. He hopes they don’t collect enough evidence but is willing to step in to minimize the chaos that will follow when she is removed. IMO SHE will never willingly step down like Nixon and Boehner did for the good of the party and nation.

I agree to a point but the drip, drip just keeps coming. Wouldn’t they simply keep it all under wraps if they wanted her to walk away?

It seems that there will be a point of no return and they will have no choice but to go after her. They want to retain some credibility in the eyes of the public. Or make her an offer she can’t refuse to make her drop out of the race.
