Whoopsie – Federal Elections Commission Opens Inquiry…(Cruz/Carly PACs)
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | September 25, 2015 | sundance

Posted on 09/25/2015 8:44:40 PM PDT by Jane Long

The FEC has opened an inquiry (see pdf below) into Ted Cruz Super-PAC (KtP) and Carly Fiorina Super-PAC (CfA). I’ll just drop this here as a reminder to what we previously said was going to happen; when you know the “splitters” you know the most likely scenario...

....Keep The Promise (KtP) Super-PAC is a pro-Ted Cruz PAC run by David Barton. David Barton is also Chairman of Mercury One Charities (Glenn Beck)...

...Carly For America (CfA) Super – PAC is a pro-Carly Fiorina PAC.

The FEC is asking why would Keep The Promise (Ted Cruz PAC) be giving money to Carly For America (Carly Fiorina PAC)?

Although I have had great respect for David Barton, he is closely affiliated with the loon Glenn Beck through Mercury One...makes me wonder if Beck has involvement in the PAC.

Ditto. I don’t get why the Cruz PACs would want to hire someone so close to Beck. Beck and Barton do go way back.

I don’t get why a Cruz PAC would want to donate to the CarlyPAC, understanding completely that Cruz himself did not make that decision, and it happened before Barton came on board.

Cruz’ dad recently marched with Beck (in AL) and Cruz supported Beck’s bears to border project. Other than that I don’t know of a connection.

If they have Goldman Sachs infecting them that is not good.
I think they directed much of the National Debt and waste of our Treasury as of late.

What is it with these Congressional Reps and their kids’ PAC involvement?

Nice work, if you can get it? LOL.

http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2015/07/31/the-man-behind-the-10-million-donation-to-a-ted-cruz-super-pac/

Mr. Neugebauer, the son of Representative Randy Neugebauer, Republican of Texas, is the co-founder of Quantum Energy Partners and has been an active investor in the oil and gas sectors, overseeing billions of dollars of assets.

Mr. Cruz is not the only presidential candidate whom Mr. Neugebauer has donated to over the years.

According to The Texas Observer, he has been known to fly Rick Perry, the former governor of Texas, on his private jet to discuss the energy industry and gas drilling in North Texas’s Barnett Shale formation. Mr. Neugebauer also donated more than $100,000 to Mr. Perry in previous election cycles.

These days Mr. Neugebauer is mingling with lawmakers such as Mr. Cruz from afar. In 2014 he moved to Dorado, Puerto Rico, raising questions among some in Texas as to whether he was seeking a more hospitable tax climate.

I’m not sure how you go from Cruz to Ruby/FiaRINO.

Sounds like the long knives are out to take out Cruz, leave Trump high and dry.

Maybe they got ticked that Cruz refused to go after Trump.

Beck does reveal himself here doesn’t he.

Boy the disrobing is unstoppable that this point isn’t it.

Too strange...One thing we know for sure is that Fiorina is not “an outsider...” Amazing that Beck has done a lot of in depth background research on Trump and not Fiorina. As of the last debate, (9-16-15) Beck has talking up Rubio and Fiorina. Mark Levin said Michelle Bachmann sent him an email on her and said to check out her background. Then Tom Marr hosted Marks show on Thursday 9-24-15 and in the first hour of the show he said Fiorina is in trouble and a lot of media know it. I guess Beck did not get the memo.

I didn’t remember all the particulars about FiaRINO from her Senate bid, but my opinion of her was that she was not a Conservative by any stretch of the imagination.

Conveying that to others doesn’t work very well, but suffice it to say, it’s dribbling out now. Hopefully folks will acknowledge it and move on to support Cruz or Trump.

I don’t demand everyone back Trump. I can see reasoned opposition. I just get tired of the same old charge that he’s a Leftist, when he’s selling Conservatism. The nation’s silent majority is eating it up.

They’re not the only ones.

First time since Reagan we’ve had a bull-horn shouting conservatism to the masses.

Love him or hate him, that is a service to our cause.

I don’t understand the Rubio/FiaRINO support at all. Glenn loses me at times. This time, seriously...

Glenn Beck is basically a babbling political preacher boy. Him having influences over anything is a bit humorous from my perspective. Ya got to love all these special interests loser insiders who seem to be entangled with everything in D.C.

What a disastrous mess they’ve created.

Only, Barton didn’t come aboard to manage the Cruz PAC’s (I think there are like four of the Keep the Promise PACs?), until the beginning of September. This donation was made back in July.

Hmmm...

I posted a thread on the subject back on August 2, — seeking views as to what Robert Mercer was doing. He also contributed $250,000 to Jindal, what the hey?

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3319207/posts

There were many opinions e.g Carly for VP; Carly covering Cruz’s flank, etc—

My thoughts were:

1. The contribution came 2 days after Trump announced. Now clearly Trump and Cruz have had private meetings before Trump announced, that’s public knowledge. So, the Cruz PAC contribution contemporaneous with Trump’s announcement, might suggest that it’s part of a plan to advance Cruz’s candidacy.

2. Otherwise, Mercer is former IBM and a “tech geek”- he may just want Fiorini to advance the cause.

3. He’s made his money operating a hedge fund- it’s what he does.

Ultimately, there’s always elaborate machinations with Cruz. A few weeks ago, he sent operatives to Guam to try to pick up 1 delegate!

At end point, we’ll find out-— should be interesting.

No doubt. I'm intimately aware of folks who've made lucrative careers embezzling the financial life out of people.

I can certainly see the VP or “go after Hellary” angle. Just seems they’d (Cruz PAC) of done a better job of vetting FioRINO. She’s being shredded, now...all the skeletons are coming out of her closet.

It’s odd that it’s being picked up, again, now...by several outlets. It seemed to go almost unnoticed, back when it happened (when you posted).

Could just be a big nothing burger ;-)

Dare I say that corruption by money has raised its arm in the GOP and that, at last, conservatives have learned to corrupt right back?

How is this little question going to work out for these conservatives, during a second term administration full of authorized jack boots, enabled to sniff out and bring to heel the slightest indiscretion, when called upon.

I am not particularly sympathetic toward this PAC until I understand the difference between them hedging its bets with money meant for Cruz, but going to Carly. Sounds like Vegas odds making to me, and truly, bets are being made with real money. It isn’t legal, no matter what title you’ve sewn onto your shirt.

Right?

HORSESHIT! The campaign has to know how much money they need to spend, how much is available, where and who it's going to come from and how they're going to get it.

This is NOT the campaign's money, it is the PAC's money. The PAC's are not set up by the candidates. The PAC's decide how to spend it, whether it be on salaries, ads, whatever. By law, candidates are not allowed to tell PAC's what to do with the contributions that they have collected.

Ted Cruz (and other candidates) will "know how much money they need to spend, how much is available, where and who it's going to come from and how they're going to get it" using the money that has been contributed directly to their personal campaign coffers by supporters.

Well, Cruz is telling me (in an email), they had 1 million after the first debate and another million after the 2nd debate.

How can he NOT be making any traction ..??
