Conservatives at the Values Voter Summit cheered Friday morning when they learned that House Speaker John Boehner was retiring. Friday afternoon, they cheered again when someone suggested the next establishment Republican to lose his job should be Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
"Here's what I say to in response to Speaker Boehner stepping down. Mitch McConnell, it is now your turn," Louisiana Gov. and GOP presidential candidate Bobby Jindal said to raucous applause.
After the news of Boehner's resignation, Arizona Rep. Matt Salmon told reporters he had texted his fellow conservative friend, Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, with the simple message: "the next guy in the crosshairs is probably McConnell."
The Kentucky Republican has never been the favorite of tea party-aligned conservatives. His budget deals with the Obama administration -- most notably the December 2012 agreement with Vice President Joe Biden averting the so-called fiscal cliff -- haven't endeared him to the base who say he gives up too much. He has declined to get rid of the Senate filibuster in order to block the Iran nuclear deal, and critics say he surrendered the fight over federal funding for Planned Parenthood by declaring early on that he would actively seek to avoid a government shutdown.

GET THAT CROSS DRE SING FAGGOT OUT OF THERE!!
Jindal was smart entering the race even though he wont win. He gets his name out there and free air time.
Governor’s appointment is good only until the next general election, not the full senate term.
Hope, and even better.... pray. And work like he!! to see it happens.
He certainly needs to be.
Tar and feather that Rinorat before setting him out for the garbage collectors.
“Is Mitch McConnell next?”
Hopefully.
I wish.
Then mccainiac and then grahamnesty.
I’d like to see him leave with a broken nose.... Mississippi is still fresh in the memory banks and doubtful it will EVER be forgotten or forgiven. Turtle soup, anyone?
I don’t know. The establishment didn’t budge a bit when Cantor got tossed out.
Not you personally, but let’s wait to see who Boehner’s replacement is before all the chest thumping. Cruz suspects the Weeper has already cut a deal to push through Obama’s agenda and budget. If Boehner’s replacement is no better and not a true conservative fighter, nothing will have changed. These traitors are not going to go quietly into the night and are not going to let the gains Obama has made be undone. There are plenty more RINO’s left to more than fill Boehner’s shoes and kiss Obama’s ________.
He wouldn’t step down as leader without leaving the Senate. He won’t leave the Senate right now. Not with a Democrat as governor. Now what would be sweet, sweet, irony is if Blevins (McConnell’s 2014 primary opponent) wins the governors race, McConnell pulls a Trent Lott type of error and has to resign, and Blevins appoints himself to fill McConnell’s spot.
From personal experience: McConnell is deeply entrenched in the Washington power structure. You’ll need a bunker buster, an Iowa class battleship, and Seal Team 6 to pry him from his position.
And the Conservatives almost all voted for him to be Senate Majority Leader knowing then what they know now. McConnell’s treason is not a new grown thing but extends back some years.
McConnell won’t be Senate Majority leader after next year. The Democrats will elect one of their own, or at least one who is a nominal as well as de facto Democrat rather than just a stooge for the Democrats who calls himself a Republican.
Pray like we have not prayed before.
Us Americans have to overcome what the fools in Kentucky and Ohio have been doing for some time now.
“And the Conservatives almost all voted for him to be Senate Majority Leader knowing then what they know now. “
Almost? http://blogs.rollcall.com/wgdb/mitch-mcconnell-unanimously-elected-majority-leader/
And four of those guys now want us to elect them as President.
Dear G-d let’s hope so. Where’s that picture of Boner and Turtle getting drunk in the bar?
That is part of why, while I would like to see Cruz in the next Administration it is as VP rather than as President. He has the Constitutional scholarship to help steer a President Trump’s determination and get-it-done abilities but he has shown poor judgment- atrocious judgment- on the Trade deal and Iran and McConnell and H-1Bs.
Think about it. Being Mitch is its own punishment.
