First off, I highly doubt the 75% figure, but even if true, there has been plenty of explanation on how to force the Dems to defund P.P. It starts with standing up for your principles and EACH DAY going out and educating the American people on said principles. Then you put the bill on the President’s desk, force him to veto it, and continue maintaining that it is the President who is shutting down the govn’t to fund a criminal enterprise, and encourage the 50% + of this country that hasn’t seen the videos to watch them. This would likely change public opinion in a hurry.
The issue Cruz and others have is starting a negotiation with surrender. The GOPe doesn’t want this fight, because most are only pro-life in name only. And those of us who remember the 90s understand the sharp contrast between Boehner’s + McConnell’s spineless surrender caucus and the way Newt fought for conservative principles back then. Sure, he didn’t get everything he wanted (or even most things), but they forced actual spending reductions (at least in the first two years) and put lots of bills on Clinton’s desk to put the Dems on record vetoing. Eventually Newt even forced Clinton to sign Welfare Reform during the thick of his re-election campaign after twice vetoing it.
Had Speaker Boehner been running things in the 90s, Welfare Reform would have never happened, and it’s questionable whether we would have had those years of budget surpluses.

My position: any government which gives taxpayer money to such a group DESERVES shutdown.
Does obama control the spending or does congress? If as you believe the executive branch should have control of the purse why do we need those buffoons in congress.
Congress is supposed to represent the people where is the representation? The executive and judicial branches are out of control. If shutting the government down for 6 months is what it takes for the legislative branch to recover their long ago severed nuts then it must be done. The world won’t end.

my cuz is a liberal and believes the PP videos are fake. I would estimate since the videos that it is closer to 60% for them to keep funding. The percentage of those who believe funding for selling organs being funded would be much much less and the majority of that percentage would be those who think the government is a pie in the sky source of money and don’t realize it is THEIR TAXES and they are morally responsible for their votes.

The liberal talking point even in MSM is that the videos are fake. Some CNN person was saying it on air the other day as if everyone knew they were fake. Where is this coming from? I mean I know they put out talking points for their supporters- but what is the basis for this one? Is there any question about the videos?
The only thing I have heard is that there is some question about whether it was legal to video the PP workers. Is there more than that?
The Congress and Senate had ample opportunities to mount serious opposition to Obama and to have serious votes—not show votes. They have a majority in each branch and could have, at the very least, negotiated compromises, but they did not. They gave him exactly what he wanted. This is not what they were sent to do.
I am for Cruz. I am simply correcting the record. It is incorrect as to immigration. We do not need any more H1B visas and should get rid of the program until wages rise 30% in those fields or H1B visa holders are required to be paid 50% more than the average for that position with a minimum salary of $165,000. If they do not warrant that type of pay, we do not need them and can get our own citizens to fill those positions.
I would love to see Cruz as the POTUS. He is about as close to 100% as we will find. Also he has guts!
