Texas A&M University has revised its sexual misconduct policy to narrowly define consent along the lines of the "yes means yes" or "affirmative consent" standards that are sweeping the nation.
A&M's student newspaper, the Battalion, reports that the policy was revised prior to the fall semester.

Of course this only applies to male-female relationships, if a guy refuses the advances of another guy, then he’s a homophobe.
A while back I posted a semi-satirical comment regarding “Informed Consent Certificate” vending machines located in College Dorms & at Bars.
Photos, thumbprints and Voilà! a Genuine, Legally Binding “Consensual Sex Agreement”.
Oh, and it must be issued 24 hours BEFORE the coupling event takes place.
Perhaps it is time to start installing these machines for real!
(I’ll be rich, Rich, RICH!)
This means that non-college older guys from the surrounding town will have a big advantage, as they won’t have to be concerned about college rules.
The problem with consent forms is the co-ed is allowed to withdraw consent at any time making the document invalid. The only sure fire way to protect oneself is videotape and having a witness present during the act.
A large percentage of all rapes are associated with alcohol, where both partners’ judgement is clouded.
The simpler solution is banning alcohol from campus instead of letting 18-20 year olds congregate in a drunken haze, where he may have sex after she’s too drunk to say no or she can’t remember that she said yes.
signed consent waivers required now before sex
“This means that non-college older guys from the surrounding town will have a big advantage, as they wont have to be concerned about college rules.”
As an already graduated, non-college older guy from the surrounding town, I dated a college girl at TX A&M 14 yrs younger than me.
Then.
I married her.
So, I like your plan. It worked.
Gig’em.
When I lived in Austin some years ago, I remember A&M to be a conservative, level headed school. Oh well.
Since it's illegal for an under-21 to drink in the first place, an even simpler solution is to arrest any under-21 girl who claims she was too drunk to consent, and then expel her.
Class of '92 here: Yes...you are correct. It used to be ulra-conservative and now its just run of the mill conservative...but even a walk through some of the comments here at times on FR shows you that social conservatism doesn't mean what it used to mean.
What has happened in this: When I started A&M in '88...A&M was cheap to go to. I paid $950 for tuition....fees...room and board (a 7 day meal plan) during my 1st semester. t.u. was the rich school. A&M was made up of middle class people with middle class values.
Now, A&M is just as expensive as t.u. It costs an arm and a leg to go there and the creep of the societal slide is showing up everywhere.
Oh good Lord....
If we have to wait for every girl to sign a consent form, we’ll die out as a species.
It was a LONG Time ago, when I was wooing women. But, I recall that it was much like blowing against a wave of water... pushing against a wall of “passive no’s:... Continuing to ask, and ask, and ask.. with tongue and hands... until, you FINALLY get the BIG YES!!!!
And then, two hours later... she decides she didn’t mean it , and suddenly you’re a rapist?
YIKES! Glad I’m married.
Before pictures are taken of the Pecksniffian school administration sitting on their moral horses, this is all done to limit liability, and any resulting bad publicity, of the school.
“...videotape and having a witness present during the act.”
Does being the photographer count??
I do not see how this changes anything. It’s still after the fact, he said/she said.
If the participants are muslim does’t the Quran require four male witnesses, just in case she later claims rape?
Now if we could only go back to the only “yes” that means “yes” is “I do.”
But I thought it was conservatives who wanted to stick their noses in your bedrooms, that’s what they used to say all the time.
Now that they have deconstructed sexual relations they (leftists) want to get very involved in your personal life. They will be happy to micromanage it for you.
