MICHELLE OBAMA WEARS $2300 DRESS TO GREET POPE
Breitbart ^ | 9/25/15 | JOHN NOLTE

Posted on 09/24/2015 9:17:00 PM PDT by Impala64ssa

Politico reports that First Lady Michelle Obama, looking lovely and classy, greeted Pope Francis Tuesday while wearing a $2,290 dress. While the Obamas are not Catholics, this is still a finger-in-the-eye to a White House guest who frequently speaks out — to wild Democrat applause — about the evils of excessive capitalism.

Both President and Mrs. Obama are disciples of Jeremiah Wright, a racist Jew-hating Chicago-based preacher. Not long after Obama ascended to the presidency, Wright, Obama’s religious mentor for 20 years, retired to a $1 million, 10,400 square foot mansion located next to a country club and golf course.

According to WorldVision, you can feed a child for just $35 a month. Michelle Obama’s dress would feed over 80 children for that month. This choice obviously is contrary to the values of Pope Francis. But the Obamas’ religious values come from elsewhere, a divisive and disturbing place, not a charitable or unifying one.

Other than this quick Politico blurb that doesn’t even take issue with the cost of Mrs. Obama’s dress, nowhere else has this news been reported. Compare this to the media’s 2012 media “firestorm” over Ann Romney’s $990 dress, which she wore on a morning show, not to stand in the shadow of St. Peter.

I don’t really think that is so bad. The dress was beautiful. It was conservative. It was made by a catholic designer. It was quite tasteful. I don’t think we should bash something she did that was actually in very good taste. The girls were dressed very tastefully, too. It doesn’t hurt us to acknowledge that. As for the cost, in the world of high fashion, that is not all that expensive.

One of those women pictured with Michelle is the wife of the former President of France. The other is the Spanish princess.

The Pope is wearing a simple cassock with a cape. No comparison in cost.

That is the first dress I have seen her wear that I thought, oohh, I would love to have that dress. They all look very very nice and uncharacteristically conservative. Very very tasteful. The designer of the dress was catholic. Thought went into it.

I doubt taxpayers paid for the clothes. I do not see why we should bash them for something they did that was tasteful. It was designed by a catholic designer. That is at least thoughtful.

Your post 24 is just really rude. Bash them for their evil liberal ideology but not for appearance. How rude.

Exactly. If we are going to bash clothes, I see only one person to bash. I will restrain myself, but still...

I am no fan of the Obama parents (the kids are kids and I will never say a negative thing about them as kids..), but their clothes at this event are very very tasteful. The cost is only moderately high in the world of fashion.

The color would have been great for July, but not late September.”

When I was growing up our wardrobe was dictated by the calendar. Labor day to November 1 was dark cotton. November 1 to March 1 was dark wool. March 1 to Memorial Day was pastel wool and from then until the day before Labor day was pastel or light cotton. White shoes from Memorial Day to Labor Day, patent shoes only for Easter and dark shoes the rest of the year. Sixty years later I still find myself following those rules.

God it’s ugly! If that’s an example of how Obama spends our money her $2300 dress is right on target. A Typical investment

I looked for that on Drudge but didn’t find it.

Anyone?

Right, Felipe’s sisters are older, so one may be Freeeench.

I’m thinking the Spanish princess (now Queen) is Felipe’s wife.

The Pope is wearing white and it is after labor day. She chose a dress by a catholic designer. I would wear that dress proudly. It is quite beautiful. I think it is one of the most tasteful things I have seen her do in the past 6 1/2 years. Why bash her for actually being thoughtful? She usually wears sleeveless dresses. This was a noticeable move to the conservative side.

Don’t be ridiculous. Her linebacker shoulders are too big for that dress, it’s all bunched up under her arm pits and her biceps are about to burst the seams. It looks like a dress she found at Ross for $23.

The outfit that Mobama is wearing in the pic at #24 is the one she wore when meeting King Juan Carlos and Queen Sophia at their island digs on Majorca.

Posted for contrast to what she wore to meet His Holiness, of course.

I disagree. She looks very good in that beautiful dress. I wish she would give that dress to me. I would love to have it.

I am sure it is hard to know what to wear to everything a First Lady must attend. I don’t like sleeveless so I would not have chosen the top. The skirt is fine. The two princesses have model figures and nearly all adult women look horrible in dresses like they are wearing. Of course they look fantastic, but believe me, 99% of women look horrible in dresses like that. I would never even try them on. I know I would look laughable. I would wear Michelle’s skirt. It is fine. Was it a hot day?

She should give that dress to me. I’d throw it over a stack of hay bales and set a table for a barnyard hootenanny.

That just goes to show that after she brushes her hair and shaves, she does look a wee bit better.

Well, at least they either tailored it or chose the camera angle to hide her 'package'.

That might seem like a lot of scratch for a FLOTUS outfit, but it is actually pretty cheap. Maybe she was trying to dress down for the occasion.
