GOP candidates scramble to win over Scott Walker supporters

Even before Scott Walker dropped out of the race for president, his Republican rivals for the White House were chasing after the remnants of his once high-flying campaign.

Walker’s opponents openly gossiped about the Wisconsin governor's political challenges as they gathered in California for last week’s presidential debate. Once he formally left the race Monday afternoon, the jockeying only intensified. […]

By the end of the night, several campaigns had moved from outreach to bragging about who from Walker’s team they had won over. […]

Warning that the 2016 campaign had become too nasty, Walker said Monday he’s “being called to lead by helping to clear the field in this race so that a positive conservative message can rise to the top.” While stepping aside, he urged others to quit, too—suggesting that a smaller pool of candidates would be better positioned to take down Republican front-runner Donald Trump. …

As Trump would say: He’s got no supporters, that’s why he is going home......

Lindsey is hoping to go from 0.00% of the vote to 0.01% of the vote...

Linda’s not a natural fit for Walker boosters.

I got ten bucks that says Cruz picks up all FOUR of his supporters. Or at least three out of the four. :-)

I liked Walker. I think he would have been a good President actually. Not sure why he didn’t gain any more traction than he did actually.

The WASHINGTONIANS put Walker on ignore.

The political class, the media, the oligarchs are the ones that call the shots.

Trump is coming for them, and they are terrified.

Tis unfortunate Walker quit the way he did, sour grapes. If he thought Republicans were nasty, he certainly wasn’t ready for the Democrats.

Shame..... He was just below Cruz in my conservative estimation. And I really want Cruz but would not shy from a Trump/Cruz ticket.

Walker was my top, top pick, but I shifted to Trump about three weeks ago. Trump is truly the ONLY one of these guys, with no exceptions, who doesn’t look like he’s pandering, or sound like a TV commercial.

He is a supporter of amnesty; it prevented him from getting a greater percentage of the polls.

Rubio will not do any better.

I like Trump but I would have voted for Walker without any reservations.

Walker wasn't my first choice, but I thought he was ok. My problem with him was a lack of coherent articulation of his position on immigration and other issues. I kept hearing and reading inconsistent reports that he said this or that, but never seemed to get the real story straight from him. I don't know. Maybe he didn't have consistent positions on the issues. Maybe he had some bad advice from his advisers. Whatever. I just didn't know what he stood for, or if he stood for anything.

He's a fine guy and appears to have done good things for Wisconsin. I'm sure one day he will be back running for the presidency in a few years. Perhaps in the meantime, he could set his sights on a seat in the House or Senate?

Walker didn’t gain any traction because he is a chicken$hit little twerp.

His I quit comments tell it all. There was no need for the holier than Trump statements which were completely unnecessary and he did what he accused Trump of. Good riddance.

As long as the despised Jeb is in there, people are not going to look at ANYONE who is part of their scheme.
