Plan to admit more refugees faces stiff opposition in Congress

Under current law, Congress does not have to approve the Democratic administration's plan. But the House of Representatives and Senate, both controlled by Republicans, would have to appropriate money to pay for any expanded effort.

There is support for the effort in Congress, but it would not be an easy sell.

"I think this is a matter of conscience for this country. But I also think admitting more refugees is critical to maintaining and gaining credibility in the region" Senator Chris Murphy, the top Democrat on the Senate's Middle East subcommittee, said.

But many Republicans, and some Democrats, worry that Islamist fighters posing as refugees might sneak into the country.

Republican Senator Jeff Sessions, chairman of a Senate immigration subcommittee and a critic of President Barack Obama's immigration policy, called the plan expensive and dangerous.

"Our schools, job markets and public resources are already stretched too thin. And, even at current rates, we have no capacity to screen for extremist ideology," Sessions said.

Well, the nation just lost that one.

The american public doesn’t think its a good idea but like the iran TREATY and obamacare washington doesn’t care about what we think. They’ll go ahead and allow those fighting age men in and we the public will be left to suffer the consequences.

Obama will just ignore Congress like he’s been ignoring them for ages. He acts like a Dictator.

If only enough Democrats had integrity, your Congress could Impeach him, he’s not only a danger to you, he’s a danger to the world.

How far you have fallen, since the days of Ronald Reagan and how far we have fallen since the days of Margaret Thatcher.

The world was never in this much chaos with them.

Obama has made the term “lame duck” obsolete, at least for Democrats.

Republican Senator Jeff Sessions, chairman of a Senate immigration subcommittee and a critic of President Barack Obama's immigration policy, called the plan expensive and dangerous.

President Trump’s Cabinet

Jefferson Sessions as Vice President

Department of State, (return INS.) – Donald Rumsfeld
Department of Justice - Trey Gowdy (Suggested by The Donald)
Department of Treasury, (includes former Homeland Security, (Customs) – Carl Icahn (Offered and Accepted)
Department of War, (change the name back, include VA function.) – Gen. James Mattis
Department of Interior, (includes legitimate functions only of former Transportation, Homeland Security (Border Patrol,) and Energy Departments) – Gov. Palin

Department of Labor and Commerce – ELIMINATE
Department of Health and Human Services - ELIMINATE
Department of Homeland Security – ELIMINATE
Department of Education - ELIMINATE
Department of Energy – ELIMINATE
Department of Housing and Urban Development – ELIMINATE
Department of Veterans Affairs - ELIMINATE
Department of Agriculture – ELIMINATE
Department of Transportation - ELIMINATE

This proposed model has the President directly managing six subordinates which is optimal.

In non-cabinet level jobs

Sheriff Clarke should be FBI Director
Michelle Bachman as IRS Commissioner under Secretary Carl Icahn in Treasury
Admiral James A. “Ace” Lyons as Undersecretary of War - Navy Branch.
LTC Allen West as Undersecretary of War – Army Branch.
Lynnette “Diamond” Hardaway and Rochelle “Silk” Richardson would be great as President Trumps Co-Press Secretaries.

No difference between the dems and pubs. Why should any chamber or anyone in govt care about what they are doing to this country. They just continue living behind their gated communities with their armed security. They don’t have to suffer through their stupid decisions.

In my dreams, one day the american public will march on washington and drag those sons of bitches out by their necks and make them pay for what they’ve done to this country.

As with other types of immigrants, we should focus on quality, not quantity.

Require each and every wannabe of every visa type to understand the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, including Bill of Rights. Then pose a series of questions to the applicant.
1) Are you willing to accept the fact the missionaries from other religions are allowed to approach you and your family members and try to convert them and you cannot use force or threats of force to prevent it?
2) Are you aware that a family member can convert to a different religion and you can’t do anything about it?
3) Get the idea?

If they are truly willing to accept that each of us has inalienable rights, then let them in. But if they hesitate, don’t let them in. If a million accept the concept of freedom, fine. If only 2 accept it that also is fine. Quality, not quantity.

Thank you, but I am over qualified for that position, so must ‘humbly’ decline. Call on me, when King of the World becomes available.

It damned well had better.

Dumping these people in communities that are reeling from the current invasion from south of the border is bordering on suicide.

Precious little if anything....watch this excellent lesson in immigration and then please pass it on to your lists....call your congressmen and urge them to not fund this Trojan Horse of Obamas.

(Promotes real understanding of poverty).

“But the House of Representatives and Senate, both controlled by Republicans, would have to appropriate money to pay for any expanded effort.”

Quick, get Bob Corker to sponsor a bill that eliminates the Legislative Branch...the Republicans will vote for it as soon as Boehner starts crying again.

LISTEN UP, CONGRESSPEOPLE: You don't DARE admit these people - most aren't even Syrian, and 3/4 or more of them are young men. These are NOT refugees, and we will end up paying for 90% or more on welfare because they are utterly unsuited to work in the US. KEEP THEM OUT!!!!!

If we had a real American president he would order the US Army to halt and prevent the invasion occurring on the southern US border. Force authorized.
