When one iconic conservative provocateur calls out another, it isn't just a feud it's a civil war.
Donald Trump finally came under some real fire at both Wednesday debates, with Gov. Bobby Jindal throwing hard, if distant, punches Trumps way in the minor league debate earlier in the evening and several candidates pouncing on the leader in the prime-time event. But Trumps bad week started with a potentially much more damaging attack from Glenn Beck, who went third-rail on Monday to accuse many of Trumps supporters of being racist. (This accusation would actually be corroborated later in the week.) The shots from fellow candidates on the debate stage still stayed within the parameters of primary propriety, sharp at times but ultimately safe, in accord with the rules of engagement. Only electoral flesh wounds were delivered. Glenn Becks attack went to the heart of the Trump phenomenon, with the conservative talker naming the elephant in the room: Trumps Tea Party supporters are racist.
Youre not supposed to even entertain that notion in conservative circles. Its a pure fabrication of Democrats and their liberal media machine, goes the conservative line. In fact, conservatives constructed a defense against charges of racism modeled on the he who smelt it, dealt it logic of third grade: To name racism is to....

My brother told me about you yesterday. You lived down to my expectations.
That’s the left calling him a wing-nut, the same as they would you.
And Beck loses more followers and listeners.
Salon and Beck, perfect together. Maybe they can push in each other’s stools while they’re being so chummy.
The last time I listened to Beck was 6 years ago when he was on the only radio station I could get in my car on a long drive. He spent 3 hours pontificating on his behind-the-scenes tour of Disneyland like it was some kind of religious experience. You would think he had been shown the secret hiding place of the Arc of the Covenant and the Holy Grail. He was near tears even back then.
I used to be a regular listener and thought he did some importatnt work exposing the progressive takeover of America.
He seems to have been having issues for a while, I stopped listening before he went on his anti-Trump kick.
Now he seems unhinged.
I used to love listening to his radio show several years ago.
He ventured off the farm long before Trump came along
He was going off the rails waaay before Trump.
Yep. Once again the left is clueless about the right.
A few freepers liked Beck. He was a more interesting and stable guy when he was at CNN.
For several years now he’s given every indication he’s mentally/emotionally unbalanced. It’s not funny, it’s not entertaining and SOMEONE in his circle should step up and see to it he gets professional help. He’s sick. Whatever his political views are, he does them no credit by his behavior.
It’s funny watching these outsiders like the GOP-e and Left-Wingers, such as anyone that would write an article for Solon, try to understand me.
They think I listen to the talking heads to figure out what to think, when of course, in reality I listen the ones who pretty much echo my thoughts. When a talking head veers off the reservation (like Beck), they think I’ll dutifully follow him/her. They think I’m just a bug flying to bright light. Of course, in reality I stop listening to them when they cease believing as I do (i.e if listening to them pisses me off).
I use to listen to and watch Beck back in the Fox days and a little bit beyond. In the past year, I’d listen in every once and while when not tied up in meetings at work. I’d visit The Blaze regularly. But I haven’t listen to or hit The Blaze since his Trump Derangement Syndrome stared (and his Palin Derangement Syndrome for that matter.. what’s up with that?).
I never knew that Glenn Beck’s disjointed rantings were the default position for all that is true.
Indeed. There is something mentally wrong with Beck, on the order of considerable bi-polar behaviour coupled with paranoic ramblings. He did great things, teaching about our Founders, and especially about the Holodomor, but this new twist is a function of his business model (and the pressure in media in general) and possibly the guidance of his mormon elders and bishops (he being a minister of the faith himself, as he has described it).
He did speak at one point as to what had been going wrong with him— but the diagnosis was not clear. It is why on many occasions his “assistants” have been conducting the show- rather poorly, might add.
Much of that stuff that was informative was stolen from other people...i.e. Trevor Loudon, David Horowitz, Malkin, etc.
When are they going to back up the Rubber Truck?
Pray America is waking
Not to mention some of his top people have left. The guy overreached, financially, in a bad way. He’s losing subscribers in droves after having bought a huge studio.
Bottom line for me is that Beck played a liberal card, calling people who disagreed with him racist. He is dead to me.
My personal opinion is that Beck was “turned” about three years or so ago when he took on Soros. I figure that his extended family was threatened (and realistically so) and he changed drastically after that dropping the Tea Party, backing Romney, etc.
I’ve also considered that maybe he never WAS what he claimed to be all along. Just in it for $$$ claiming to be ‘tea party’. Bought a tee from him ages ago. Thinking of sending it back for a refund or telling him to ‘shove it’.
