The apple doesn´t fall far from the tree. The father of the Muslim teenager, who was arrested for bringing a homemade clock to school, is a Sudanese immigrant who went from selling New York City hot dogs to twice running for president in his native country. Mohamed ElHassan, who stood beside his son Ahmed Mohamed Wednesday and expressed how "proud" he is of him, grew up in an African village before moving to the U.S. to achieve the American dream, the North Dallas Gazette reported. "Once I realized my dream was bigger than what Sudan had to offer I immigrated to America in

I read about his father yesterday and wondered if this might be a setup. Obama was awfully quick with the invitation too. Makes you go hmmmm, doesn’t it?
At least the Boy on the Beach was only 70% made-up...
Priceless poster speaks volumes, thx!
[Clock not a bomb. Timer without explosives?]
The point is it was made to LOOK like a bomb. Kids get in trouble for making something that looks like a gun.
A bomb is much worse than a gun. According to the FBI it’s a WMD.
He wasn’t evev thrown out of the game...
I stand corrected. Good.
Didn’t seem like much of a deal was made about it, though.
There wasn’t. Pretty much a photo-op.
There was more ceremony at the Pentagon later. They all got medals.
Only reason I knew was they broke into Outnumbered to show it today.
This story really is bizarre.
As you have said,”a kid makes something that looks like a gun and they are in trouble”.Recall the child that chewed his pop tart into a shape of a gun, children using their index fingers and thumbs for a simulated gun has the school in lock down.
Yes indeed, this story smells.
OBAMA IS LOOKING TO NORMALIZE STUDENTS (ARABS AND MUSLIMS ESPECIALLY) BRINGING INTO SCHOOLS DUBIOUS ELECTRONIC DEVICES AND ALLOWING THEM THROUGH UNMOLESTED UNDER THE AUSPICES OF NOT DISCRIMINATING.
I am screaming in CAPS because this event demands I do so.
It is almost like Obama wants the conditions for a many numerous schools to fall victim to suicide bombers from ISIS....
The reaction to the pop-tart “gun” was insane. The reaction to the kid’s electronics project was equally insane — combined with huge dollops of ignorance of electronics. The kid’s engineering teacher saw the project. The moronic teacher, who called the cops on the kid, should have asked the electronics teacher what it was all about.
Anyone, with even a smidgen of knowledge about electronics, would know that you can buy a nice, compact, discrete, completely-reliable timer off the shelf at countless stores. A bomb-maker would not make a huge, ugly, completely-indiscrete, and unreliable timer from scratch. They would also recognize a circuit board; and would know that an actual bomb contains explosives — which this device plainly did not.
...When is he going to invite the U.S. Marine who may have saved a trainload of innocent people in France?
There wasn’t a Marine involved.
I just read an article in Make magazine about the clock that the 9th grader made. They wee saying how people thought it looked like a briefcase but on examination it is just a simple child’s pencil box and they said this because of the scale of the plug in reference to the case. I don’t think it looks like a pencil box and i think it is weird the kid would make his clock look like it does. The whole thing is strange.

I don’t see what difference the size of the case makes. It was big enough to hold enough C-4 to vaporize everything within 15 feet at least.
Well then. Expert hath spoken. Plainly. Know-It-Allingly. - Must be nice to be such an expert and not moronic.
And advised him not to show it to anyone else. He obviously knew what the reaction would be. Then the kid set it up to so that it would cause a disturbance and insure that other people would see it.
“...it is just a simple childs pencil box and they said this because of the scale of the plug in reference to the case. I dont think it looks like a pencil box and i think it is weird the kid would make his clock look like it does. The whole thing is strange.”
Are they kidding. They should go out and try to buy a “pencil box” that looks like that.
