The thoughts about Israel I grew up with was that they deserved a holy land homeland and were our kindred religious and cultural and political allies

This notion I see so prevalent here for lack of a better word comes across to me nowadays as what I’d call Rev Hagee or Beck style whereby Israel is end times building block and Jews are someone these folks appear to envy

I think if you ask any Jew short of an ultra Orthodox it isn’t time for Israel yet sort or a Jewish rejectionist who sides with the Hashemite diaspora that even a Harvey Weinstein or Speilberg or Katzenberg however leftist will insist they support Israel even though they vote and finance and heavily culturally influence anti Israel democrat party candidates and ally with black leftists many of whom are what yes I would consider anti Israel and possibly anti Semite

Hence I think evangelical Protestants support Israel more politically in the long run that sentiment purporting to support Israel is arguably equal at least in their opinions of themselves

Did you read her tweets? She mentioned in her next tweet that Evangelicals may be the target of all the pandering. Elsewhere, she stated the Huckabee was acting like he’s running for PM of Israel.

BTW, regarding Does Israel pander to the U.S. in parliamentary elections...Knesset to be precise I hope not , recall the last election. Herzog's main point was Bibi's alienation of the US, which he could correct. The US relationship was a big issue, which Bibi won. Of course since Herzog opposed the Iran deal too, he couldn't differentiate himself on that issue.

American Jews don't view the GOP as historically anti-Israel. I do, but like most people I bring my political bias to these issues, so less than friendly actions toward Israel I tend to overlook. Like Dem Presidents, Republican Presidents have been more and less friendly toward Israel. Obama, though, is the anti-Israel winner.

I think they pander terribly. It’s so over the top sickening butt kissing, it is disgusting to watch. What I’m saying is not that I am mad about “who” they are pandering to , It’s that it comes off as condescending. Like they are trying to push each other off the front of the stage to get to a yarmulke. It reminds me of the way democrats pin a metal on a black kid that wins a science fair.

Of course Black kids are perfectly capable of winning science fairs! Stop being so sickening about it and simply expect the kids to try hard like everyone else. Of course our candidates should stand behind Israel or any of our other allies. Not doing so makes you a traitor! You don’t have to pander.

The Cruz pander about moving the US embassy was the worst. Every candidate promises that. Nothing original. WE KNOW! STOP SAYING IT BECAUSE YOU DON’T MEAN IT AND YOU ONLY WANT RICH DONERS TO OPEN THEIR WALLETS! WE’RE NOT STUPID!

Stopping illegal aliens from overrunning this country is more important. Sheesh.

I pointed that out in post 95, No matter, the damage is done, though it should be noted that if candidates were pandering, it was more to please f***ing Evangelicals, not Jewish voters . As to Maybe it's to suck up to the Evangelicals., that's a question which doesn't negate the impact her original statement will have. The least she could have done is called the f***ing Evangelicals. The Huckabee tweet could be interpreted as a hit on Huckabee, Israel, or both. She's a bomb thrower, and journalists really shouldn't be considered as indicative of political movements unless they're speaking from that context.
