How the Republican race has become a total circus, explained in 1 picture
Wash Post ^ | 9/16/2015 | Chris Cillizza

After delivering a 13-minute "foreign policy" speech in which he touched only briefly on anything approaching foreign policy, Donald Trump began to throw his signature — and highly sought after — "Make America Great Again" hats into the California crowd.

Welcome to the 2016 Republican presidential primary race!

Trump has turned the whole process into a giant circus/game show/reality TV program. His speeches are heavy on bombast and lighter-than-air on policy specifics. He uses his Twitter feed and Instagram account to taunt his Republican rivals for being "low-energy" (Jeb Bush) or an "okay doctor" (Ben Carson).

He says things — about John McCain, about Megyn Kelly, about menstruation, about Carly Fiorina's looks — that would doom other candidates but seem to have no negative effect on his candidacy.

In short, Trump does Trump. And, man, is it an entertaining show. Hell, he gives away free hats!

The democrats primary consists of the attempted coronation of a woman under FBI investigation and the socialist whose starting to poll ahead of her.

With this in mind, I really have no patience for those throwing stones at the republican primary race.

I actually thought tossing the hats was cool, he seemed to throw pretty well, too. What is wrong with it?

Not any specifics!?? really CNN? You’ mean like “hope and Change”??

Now there’s some specifics you can sink your teeth in.

Well, to be fair, he did specify that he'd fundamentally change America away from the land of the free and the home of the brave.
I added that last part.

If it’s Jeb, I will stay home for the first time in 40+ years.

In 2008, I voted for McCain even though he was my last choice in the Republican primary because he wasn't as bad as Obama.

In 2012, I voted for Romney even though he was my last choice in the Republican primary because he wasn't as bad as Obama.

I honestly can't say that this year. I don't see a rats ass worth of difference between Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton. Either way, we are totally fvcked.

I never voted for MCCain but did for Palin. I voted against Obammy in 2012 cuz I saw what he could do.

Unfortunately my election day alcohol allowance is now zero, so I wont be able to vote for the GOPe hideosity should one appear on the ballot.

Sorry.

Yes!

I am glad to see CNN policing the political scene.

There can be no room in these serious times for superficial political theater, self aggrandizement, catchy slogans in place
of serious policy discussions or candidates and major media outlets who turn the political process into a media circus.

Yep, I WILL NOT VOTE FOR JEB under any circumstances.

Trump is neither a leftist or a rino. He seems to try to take the best from history, the conservative and the liberal playbook. Think of the differences between those ideas.

Does your state have separate voting for President and VP?
I’ve never seen that.

One of the most corrupt politicians in American politics ever and a socialist vying for the Democrat nomination, and it’s the Republicans nomination process that’s a circus? LOL!
