I think that people voted for Obama simply because of the color of his skin. The people of the USA wanted to see a black man in the white house. His ideas were meaningless to them. They got their wish.

So, Bernie, the fact that you haven’t ever owned slavesmakes you superior to George Washingtonmeans that you can’t be arrested for breaking the law. The founders of the country were born into a culture in which their parents legally owned slaves, and - tho well educated - did not know of any culture in history anywhere in which slavery was not an accepted institution.The founders moved the culture toward the abolition of slavery, but slavery in the South became more profitable at the very time that Christianity was becoming hostile to that institution. The result was the Civil War, which ended slavery in the US in plenty of time for your grandparents to raise your parents to feel superior to the founders, merely for the fact that they did not have the opportunity to do what the founders of the country did.
Bernie, you don’t get to beg the question - what have you done that makes you a hero compared to George Washington?
