I am reminded of the announcement of LBJ, that he would not seek re-election to the Presidency of the United States of America in 1968, after losing the confidence of Walter Cronkite (remember the hammering LBJ got on the Tet offensive?)
The Freddie Gray death and resulting riots are sort of like the Tet offensive.

At first I smiled about this as a typical, self-serving statement spouted by any departing office-holder. Then I thought again and winced, realizing that she may very well have been correct. If Baltimore wasn't next to D.C., it would be the new Detroit on the basis of what the voters have elected!

She was taking orders DIRECTLY from Valerie Jarrett during the riots.
She was stupid enough to repeat publicly what Valerie Jarrett told her to do.
“Give them room to destroy.”
Valerie Jarrett gave the “Stand Down” order during Benghazi.
Valerie Jarrett gave the “Stand Down” order during the Baltimore riots.
I have no doubt that she could be re-elected. The very people that destroyed the town with her permission would vote for her. Why wouldn’t they? The mob sacrificed one person to get license to loot, riot, and burn a town...
My thoughts exactly. She certainly has a friendly Media to boost her aspirations. She has been a disaster for Baltimore....why not be a disaster for the whole state of Maryland?
My guess is she is getting a kickback from that $6.4 million settlement. She needs money to retire on.

Some would wonder whether she might able to retire early on an under-the-table kick-back from that $6.4 million settlement.
There are those who would wonder whether she is fed up with politics or plans to seek a higher office in the near future.
Joe Biden needs a VP running mate.

She will certainly end up somewhere in a position furthering the progressive movement and being paid a very handsome salary. These people seem to operate lawlessly until their cover gets blown. After they leave their position, they later surface at a ‘think tank,’ or an executive board of some progressive non-profit group, etc... It’s a cesspool of people being recirculated all around the system.
Wanna bet she gets a high-paying job courtesy of the 0bammy administration?
Bet she runs for a higher office.

I think she plans on ‘moving on up’?

She was convicted of perjury, among other things.
I would believe every word she says.
Nothing else would be fair
in our current “social justice” world.
Must be nice to have a job and cause chaos, never have to take responsibility and just keep moving up the ladder for more cash.
Where is the accountability?
