When Zero Hedge first reported ten days ago that Russian troops, in their bid to support the Assad regime in its ongoing confrontation with various ISIS, Al Nusra, and other US-supported groups in what has become the proxy war of 2015 (one which even comes with thousands of refugees for dramatic media impact) had been quietly massing in Syria and have set up a forward operating base near Damascus, there were those who were openly skeptical.
Then, just a few hours ago, Bloomberg finally confirmed that "top officials were scheduled to meet at the National Security Council Deputies Committee level to discuss how to respond to the growing buildup of Russian military equipment and personnel in Latakia" and that Russia is "set to start flying combat missions from a new air base inside Syria."
So yes, for whatever reason (and the reason as we explained is clear: natural gas pipelines) Russia is making not only its increasing support for Assad known, but also that it is in Syria and that any further US-funded and supported incursions by ISIS or whatever is the media scapegoat terrorist organization du jour, will not be tolerated.
To be sure, none of this is in any way a surprise to the US - just as the US is using ISIS as a pretext to invade or pressure any mid-east nation it desires "in order to hold the jihadist terrorist scourge", so Russia is now using ISIS as a comparable excuse to intervene. After all, if ISIS is the friend of humanity, then surely Russian aid will be welcome. That it is not, had made it abundantly clear that not only is ISIS just a convenient diversion, but the reasons for a Syrian invasion and deposition of Assad, are purely political and entirely in the realm

Remember the story and photo of that butt-ugly trannie the WH (of course) hired? It’s obviously a guy, but trying to look female ... I’m thinking if we drop that creature by parachute on Damascus, game over.
“Unless Obamatron wanted that to happen... “
Yeah it burns them down and waste their resources .
Eventually Turkey will take care of them .
That is who zero has been spending all his phone time with.
All this mess is to rebuild the Ottoman Empire
You have to remember he is a Sunni
Thank you and blessings to you.
That's WHY they are having a National Security meeting.
Putin is also supplying Assad with similar weapons to equip his depleted army.
Putin is selling Iran all kinds of high tech, heavy and sophisticated military hardware including nuclear technology, ballistic missile technology, advanced turn key ground to air and ground to ground missile systems , fighter jets and rapid deployment transport with heavy airlift and in the field delivery capabilities, which will transform Iran into a regional power with the ability to project offensive power well outside the borders of Iran
All of this new hardware is being paid for with money given to Iran by President Obama as part of the Iran Nuclear Deal ,
Russian troops being based in Syria and fighting side by side with Iranian and Syrian troops
Meanwhile, American troop presence in the region rapidly to alarmingly low numbers as Obama removes them from the Middle East theater of operation.
These events are moving forward at stunningly rapid pace in direction which completely and radically alters the balance of power in the Middle East in very bad way for America and the rest of the world.
It looks like President Obama is collaborating with Iran and Russia to establish and Iran /Syria/ Russian alliance as the dominant military power in the Middle East as the end game of foreign policy goals in the region
Russia and Iran's stated goals policy aims for the last 8 years have been to use the threat of a war in the Middle East to keep the price of oil at artificially high, war premium prices.
Without American military intervention, in a very short period of time the Iran/Syria/Russia will have enough fire power in the region to over run Saudi Arabia and the rest of the OPEC Oil States
At the same time Europe is being over run with hundreds of thousands of “refugees” , most of whom look like the military trained Jihadi terror warriors who have been creating chaos and murder in Syria. where they will be in a great position to cause real problems in the EU.
All the while ,President Obama does everything he can to ram his Iran agreement, which will fund the Iran/Syria/Russian military build up, down the the throat of the American people who overwhelmingly reject it.
President Obama is sitting by watching all this happening and doing absolutely nothing to the Russian and Iranian military buildup.
In fact, is actually funding the Russian and Iranian buildup and doing everything he can to support it .
There is a very good chance we will see a war in the region before Obama leaves office because this is once in lifetime opportunity for Russia and Iran to take over the Middle East by force of arms using Syria as a staging ground with the tacit support of President Obama and no risk of American military intervention.
With hundreds of thousands of Jihadi "refugees" acting as an Islamic 5th column tying down Europe with sabotage and revolutionary unrest, there is not risk of Europe intervening either . Heck, Russia may even end up owning Europe outright if he plays his cards right
Especially when he shares the same basic 'new international order' aims as the Russians: stronger Russia, weaker US.
Not an embarrassment if it’s what you want to happen. The deal will still go thru.
Hit ‘em from the air.
Russia is US-supported under the Obama regime. Obama has bent over backwards showing them his "flexibility" on missile defense and nukes. They could have no better friend than him.
So yes, for whatever reason (and the reason as we explained is clear: natural gas pipelines) Russia is making not only its increasing support for Assad known, but also that it is in Syria and that any further US-funded and supported incursions by ISIS or whatever is the media scapegoat terrorist organization du jour, will not be tolerated.thx Nachum.
He will react irrationally as is his wont. He will find someone domestic to lash out at.
Saudi has plenty of firepower to wage an effective defensive battle. (They’ve been spending a LOT, in recent years.) Their problem is having enough effective, loyal, and hardened manpower... In a pinch, would they call in the Paks?
You are correct sir.
Putin and “company” are thumbing their noses at odumbo, who they know will do nothing to stop them.
Quite a collection there.
Obama must be “flexible” in this situation.
I hope he doesn’t strain himself.

You nailed it!
