Huckabee complains Cruz crashed his party
Politico ^ | 09/09/2015 | Daniel Strauss

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee wants you to know the Kim Davis rally on Tuesday was his event and Sen. Ted Cruz was a last-minute addition.

"Look, I invited him to come and meet with Kim Davis. It was our event. We were kind of surprised that he showed up. But you know, once he was there, we invited him to come and meet with her. So I’m not sure what the controversy is," Huckabee said on Fox News on Wednesday morning.

[snip]

"We planned, paid for, and promoted the event and Sen. Cruz showed up the day of and tried to take it over. It would have been the equivalent to us showing up at their religious liberty event in Iowa a couple weeks ago, claiming it was our event, and expecting to give the keynote speaking role," said a Huckabee aide, who refused to talk on the record about the event. "First time any of us have ever seen a presidential candidate crash another candidate's event without so much as reaching out to get permission to attend. Bizarre."

“So I’m not sure what the controversy is”

After going on and on about about how Cruz crashed his event he says he doesn’t know what the controversy is.
Classic.

Instead, with his “put me in jail instead” lame outburst, he made himself look like a jackass.

No kidding. That struck me as a dumb meaningless thing to say too.

Meanwhile Cruz, as usual, rises above it all and focuses on what's important.

From Twitter:

"Ted Cruz ‏@tedcruz 23h23 hours ago

Praise God Kim Davis is being released. Outrageous she was jailed 6 days for living according to her Christian faith "

Huckleberry is looking childish.

He invited Cruz, but really didn’t expect him to show up. So, Huckleberry’s gang was going to make a big deal about the other candidates not showing up even though invited??

putz is the first word that comes to mind.

So, Huckster, it wasn’t really about Kim Davis — it was about you. Thanks for letting us know.

So Huckabee says he invited Cruz and his aide says Cruz crashed the event without permission. Bizarre indeed.

Cruz wasn't trying to "take over." As I understand it, he was simply trying to grant a reporter's request for an interview.

Well at least Kim Davis gave God the Glory when she talked. Huckabee not so much. He has forgotten that there is only one “election” that really counts.

“Look, I invited him to come and meet with Kim Davis.”

So Huckabee “invited” Senator Cruz and then wanted to limit and restrict the Senator’s access and movements. Huckabee is only in the race to split Conservative strength. I believe three things about Huckabee’s candidacy, he will not get the nomination, he doesn’t expect to get the nomination, he expects to profit monetarily.

Cruz instead waded into the crowd and chatted with the folks.

It wasn’t Huckster’s “party.” He has proven himself to be highly unChristian.

The Huckster proves his Hucksterism! Not about Kim or religious freedom ... it is only about him and his exclusive PHOTO OP!

FAIL

He “invited” Ted but Ted “crashed” the event... Really?

Ted was quick to stand up for her. Huck could have done himself a favor by showing that he and Ted were united on this issue. Ted makes it a point to see the other candidates as allies on issues of importance. Huck can’t help himself, he sees an ally as a rival.

The wasn’t Huck’s day, it was Kim’s day. If he and Ted had any influence on events they ought to have stood with her and celebrated. Had he done that I guarantee you he’d be arousing interest as a candidate today. Instead he comes off as small.

Still, its not over. Kim still has an outlaw judge threatening her if she insists on obeying the law. Huck will get another chance to redeem himself if he wants one.

This is sad, horribly sad, that the Huckster upstaged, (or tired to anyway) this First Amendment fight... He has diminished whatever good he may have thought he was doing... reminds me of the Christmas Story where Ralphy was diligently trying to decode a secret message, only to find it was a “Crummy Commercial?!... be sure to drink your Ovaltine?” We thought the Huckster was there to do some good, only to find Kim Davis was merely the backdrop of a lousy campaign photo op... that’s lower than low...

“See, this is what Huckabee does. He viciously undercuts a political rival, and then feign outrage that it happens, and goes into aw-shucks mode. He’s a despicable human being.”

Perfect description. I've known a few weasels like him.

Cruz didn't appear with either Huckabee or Davis as they came out of the jail.

Huck-a-buck is just another ALSO RAN looking for attention using Kim Davis as his vehicle.

Go home Huckabee and mow your lawn. Do something constructive.

Huckabee didn’t come across as very Christian.

On the other hand, Cruz did.

Huckster is still struggling to cash in on the useful idiot bible thumper vote. He is a paid vote splitter for a jBush nomination. That is/was his sole job.
