Soaking the rich is a strategy that appeals to both sides of the equation.

It sure has become a staple here --I'm personally amazed at all the class warfare freaks infesting the FR.

...unless he changes his mind......again.

LOL!!

Hmmm.   Then again, maybe he'll just get worse and name Pelosi to the supreme court or something....

Where are we disconnecting here?

I'm referring to his 1-5-10-15 Plan That would reduce taxes on upper income and, assuming he also does away with deductions and credits, will raise taxes on lower incomes. And, of course, his tariff on imports will hit upper and lower income people as well.

expect NO talk of tax cuts until more people are actually paying them.

Hey guy, me and a lot of other Americans are already paying too much and tax payments have soared to a record all time high 3,021,487 Millions of Dollars!

There's going to be plenty of tax-cut talk, from us tax payers.

That's what I was getting, that he talked the talk about some nice tax cuts for some and then turned right around and pointed clearly to raising my taxes now.  My view is for cutting taxes seriously and then cutting spending very seriously.

May taxes are onerous as well. But I’d like to get past the talk and see something done about it.

A month ago I thought he would flash then crash but he don’t seem to be even though he is turning into just another nuanced hack. Curious.

My thots are that the only way we're going to see something done is if we actually do it.  At least that's my project these days.

Why does nobody talk about stopping billions in fraud and waste?

Everyone talks about it. Nobody does anything about it.

1) Because too many are recipients of fraud and waste. And

2) Too many feel no pain because they pay no federal taxes.

I didn’t realize that 15% is greater than 39.6%.

Time to go back to College. No, make that Elementary School.

I must have missed it the first time around.

So, you didn’t research what Trump actually proposed and you are shocked when another FReeper informs you of it?

Trump will be releasing his Tax Proposal very soon. Any other Republican Candidates releasing their Tax proposals?

Why don’t you wait until you see in Black and White what his proposed Tax Policy is before you start a useless Thread like this?

Of course, he can propose anything, but the Congress has to Pass Legislation for the President to sign. It’s like making Sausage.

--and you said that a 35% tax hike in imports is really a tax cut?  No, that would be a snarky attack necessary only if  the issue didn't matter.  It does.  Taxes are too high.  We need serious tax cuts and very serious spending cuts --cuts that we'd love to hear about from y'all.  In the mean time no talk about tax-hike until we've seen spending cuts and tax cuts already in place.  Otherwise it's just more Democrat lies pushing more tax'n'spending.

dear expat, re: "<> Ah, so that's supposed to make raising taxes a good thing so we'll want to vote for Trump." No, but with the latest one of many mantras when discussing Trump, i.e., 'He wants to raise taxes ... Republicans don't do that', is why I wrote that about Bush #1. He campaigned about 'read my lips, no new taxes', then he did NOT veto any, either.

I don’t recall ever saying that. (”and you said”?)
Do you have me confused with another FReeper?

I thought we were discussing Income Tax Rates anyway, not Tariffs. When did that get inserted into the Conversation?
